I was maybe 5 or 6 when I read this. I believe it was, in fact, one of my first manga. A great entry point; I recommend it for getting into manga, especially if you're younger. Of course there are other options, but this is a relatively short one, and it doesn't span over 100 books to overwhelm you with, *COUGH* Pokémon Adventures *COUGH COUGH*, and it's good for determining if you like manga. Again, this is targeted at a younger audience, so I don't recommend it if you're older than 10, but you I was maybe 5 or 6 when I read this. I believe it was, in fact, one of my first manga. I have nostalgia for it, so that's the main reason I read every once in a while.

Ginji has absolutely no idea how he woke up in the body of a Torchic, and he has no time to wonder as a friendly Mudkip partners up with him to form a Rescue Team intent on protecting Pokemon - and perhaps learning the truth about Ginji's dilemma! Mizobuchi will keep young fans thoroughly entertained with this short but exciting manga. Can Ginji learn the truth, or will he be trapped in this world forever?! I saw this in Books-A-Million a few weeks ago and thought of getting it. Today I went back to take a peek and see if it's worth it and ended up reading the whole thing. It probably wouldn't be as fun if I hadn't enjoyed the games so much as a kid but it fun to read it. Would recommend to anyone excited for the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game coming out! :) I saw this in Books-A-Million a few weeks ago and thought of getting it. While I'm new to the mystery dungeon series, I quite enjoyed this manga. It all raps up in the end which is nice. I didn't expect it to. Other than that, it's a typical Pokemon story with some misunderstandings that get resolved along the way. While I'm new to the mystery dungeon series, I quite enjoyed this manga. I read Ginji's Rescue Team when it ran in Nintendo Power magazine; it was a cute kid's story with a "Don't give up" moral at the end. The story itself is a little rushed: Ginji wakes up one morning as a Torchic. A Mudkip convinces him to form a rescue team, and while the manga sticks close to the plot of the Mystery Dungeon video games, it would have been more interesting had the story been slowed down and broken up into two or maybe three volumes. The plot moves so quickly that character development gets thrown by the wayside and Ginji and Mudkip don't get the treatment they deserve as the main characters. I knew very little about them at the end that I didn't know from the beginning. Overall, a cute read for fans of the Pokemon series. I've only read it once and I don't think I'll read it again.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team is an amazing book. The characters have interesting personalities that kept me reading. There was never a dull moment either. The characters were always trying to solve a problem, or were being conflicted by the antagonist. This is definitely one of my favorite books because of the characteristic and actions of the characters. I also like it because i can relate to the protagonist. I would recommend this book to any person who likes Pokemon, because i Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team is an amazing book. The beginning doesn't really make you feel like you're in the Pokemon world, besides the fact that Genji is wearing a Gastly t-shirt. But I guess that part doesn't really matter. For the most part I think it sticks to the game's story. The Pokemon's personalities are the same as their game counterparts. I thought their facial expressions were cute/hilarious. It ends with a life lesson: that we should never give up. What better way to motivate kids than to use Pokemon? :) The beginning doesn't really make you feel like you're in the Pokemon world, besides the fact that Genji is wearing a Gastly t-shirt. Hahaha I know right. Pokemon...? I still have a soft spot for it since it was like MY LIFE in fourth grade. You should have seen me-the lone girl surrounded by a bunch of boys. Well I read this book (barely...its backwards so THAT was difficult. But I was happy to try something new.) and I still think its cute and I loved it when I was younger so here it is!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is a good book for beginning readers, but not high level readers. This book's story line is pretty strait forward with only a little twist. People can read this book for entertainment if they want because it's really funny and kind of strange at some parts. For the people that really dislike pokemon, don't even consider this book. I have alternatively aided and treated Tristan Lyndel O. Molina and Sabrina Faith G. 3 1/2 stars I think that the story could have been better expanded upon if they had split it into more than one volume. Otherwise this read fairly quickly and smoothly. The art was lovely and the book seemed to follow fairly well to the main game storyline.
