The story line should have been good enough, the characters could have had something to make them likable. However the cooking/baking did not take at all. The characters never managed to get any flesh. Overall there was no showing, only telling which did not allow any emotions to reach me. Last thing, given the cover, I was expecting much warmer, longer and steamier scenes. Not the worst erotic romance I read, but not worth spending the time on it either, in my opinion. This should be my last book from this author.

So the story is short but I absolutely love the beautiful quote at the start of the book. And my lips are numb with such unbridled passion Your naked shoulders reflect the shining of the night as I contemplate the dance of my fingers through your hair. No dude. Just no. You can't expect me to like a hero who fully intends to fuck the heroine just to get her back for a previous breakup then go back to being a man whore the next day. Or to believe that anything romantic coming out of his mouth isn't totally hokey. nope nope nope. DNF Edit: also his ode to his own big penis was really off putting and ruined the whole sex scene No dude. Just no. With great banter, great dialogue, and sexual chemistry/attraction that had me dipping in the ocean to cool off, this book had it all. I LOVED it!

All she knew were beauty treatments and pageants until her first big modeling break. Homeschooling from her mother was a joke. And yet no matter what she did she was never good enough. She never feels like she is enough, can ever be enough. Raising herself legally since she was 16 gave her some confidence but it is really just a pretty shell. Can she really have a real future with Jake? Or is he just like every other man? Will he try and exploit her like all the others? How can her really care for her? How can she possibly be enough? Jake had a rough life. Football saved him from his selfdestrutive tendencies by giving him an outlet for his aggression and anger issues. It saved his life and made him a star. Now not even football can keep him calm. Hannah got under his skin and he is not sure he can live without her. How will he win her back? Will they be able to make it long term? Or is she like the rest of the women and seeking fame and news coverage? Is he in love with her? Will he be able to make her see they are meant to be together? ***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy chicklit steamy sports romances with a HEA and a good dose of humor :)

Going For It by Liz Matis was an entertaining read & it did not disappoint! Jake, a pro football player, & Hannah, a Victoria's Secret model, once had a brief, yet hot fling that ended too soon. It had all the ingredients in making a great story: in-depth characters, a well-developed plot & storyline, and good pacing of the story. Although short, the story didn't feel rushed or incomplete. Instead, it felt...just right. Overall, Going For It was a light, sexy, and sweet contemporary romance that I highly enjoyed reading. Highly recommend this story for anyone seeking out a satisfying read that will leave you with a smile :)

Let first of by saying this more I feel of a novella rather than a book. The story is short and picks up where "Playing for Keeps" ended. Not to mention I love the ending to this story. Please read these books in sequence in order to get to know the characters and their stories. They are very enjoyable. Happy Reading!!

If you love sports, you will love this story. It picks up where Jake and Hannah left off in book 1. The story was sweet and I couldn't put it down. I would recommend this novella to sports fans. It's self-published so if little typos or mispellings upset you, beware. Though, that being said, there were very few and I didn't even see any until the final few pages. This is a quick novella, based on two of the secondary characters from 'Playing for Keeps,' also by Liz Matis. I liked it enough to get this one. If you like contemporary steamy romance with a football-playing alpha male, go for it. It's self-published so if little typos or mispellings upset you, beware. The story of Jake and Hannah, overall, was very sweet. Jake, the professional football player, had a one week relationship with Hannah, the Victoria's Secret model a while back. Because of lack of communication and understanding it didn't work out. Sometime in the future, Jake and Hannah's best friends get married. Sometime on the wedding day, the Chemistry they'd been fighting came roaring back, landing them in bed together. This is where the story starts. Sometime in the future, Jake and Hannah's best friends get married. Sometime on the wedding day, the Chemistry they'd been fighting came roaring back, landing them in bed together. This is where the story starts. On paper, Jake and Hannah seem to be practically perfect and have it all. This book manages to humanize them and allows us to see beyond the perfect masks to the hidden scars and insecurities everyone has along with their will to battle through. What disappointed me was that there was a wonderful opportunity to flesh out these characters and help us get a deeper, stronger feel for the impacts of some of their life incidents, ( Hannah's father's abandonment, her health & weight concerns, more depth around her mommy issues...and Jake's dad's macho mentality or what happened to his relationship with his brother once he came out). I think some of these things could have added a richness and depth to the book. It's a fun read if you're looking for an erotic sports romance that only goes skin deep. I gave this book three stars for all the potential that was never realized.

Love football so a book with a sexy as hell football player is a win win. I enjoyed the book it just wasn't a wow book for me. I enjoyed the characters Jake the football player trying to win back super model Hannah. After their "one night" together Jake wanted more so when they meet again at a wedding he wants to start again, nothing is that easy though. . I thought this book was on the shorter side I did not read in this Playing for Keeps in this series but felt a little let down with this one, Love football so a book with a sexy as hell football player is a win win.
