I'm absolutely wild about this series. I don't think that I will ever stop hoping for yet another Casson Family book. I'm absolutely wild about this series. I don't think that I will ever stop hoping for yet another Casson Family book.

The Casson Family series has always been somewhat like a comfort blanket to me - they've been a part of my life for the majority of my life, and the characters are so real, so vivid, and I have read them so many times that they genuinely feel real to me now (I am also friends with the author via Twitter these days, so that's a bizarre and fun fact). I took 'Forever Rose' to be the final story in the series, but never stopped wondering what happened to the characters, so I've been itching to get The Casson Family series has always been somewhat like a comfort blanket to me - they've been a part of my life for the majority of my life, and the characters are so real, so vivid, and I have read them so many times that they genuinely feel real to me now (I am also friends with the author via Twitter these days, so that's a bizarre and fun fact). I took 'Forever Rose' to be the final story in the series, but never stopped wondering what happened to the characters, so I've been itching to get my hands on this book ever since it was released - and today, my Kindle arrived and I was finally able to read it. It's a fast-paced, short read, and certainly doesn't have the depth the other stories have - because it is Rose's thoughts when something happens, and her occasionally updating the reader on the Casson family's lives. But all the humour that I love in the previous stories, and all the bonds between the characters was all still there - and throughout my read, I was highlighting funny quotes on my Kindle. This was a lovely chance to dive back into the Casson world for a short period of time, and see where the characters I love dearly are at now, and I wasn't disappointed at all; the lack of conclusion at the end though allows me to live out my headcanon that Rose and Tom someday end up together. Fight me on this. I will win.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. I was so sad when the blog posts were taken down and so happy that they are now published as an eBook! Thank you, Hilary McKay! I do not think that these are all of the blog posts--I remember a few more, though perhaps those ones are still on the blog.
