Quick. Ok. Nothing earth shaking here Fine story but the big moment where the hero saves the heroine happens behind closed doors or rather off stage. That was a bit of a letdown. Nonetheless, didn't mind the read. Would have liked more. Read for the URR 2018 New Years Challenge, 28. Military Romance Quick. Ok. Not what I expected from the blurb. Not sure how to explain. I liked the beginning, but then the style lost me and I thought the cursing was overdone. The side story of her stalker is mentioned but resolved "off screen"... Anyway, not my cuppa. Not what I expected from the blurb. Not sure how to explain. This was a great quick read. I've read and re-read this book multiple times and I love it! Nash and Lexi are complicated and sexy. There is something about this book that brings me back again and again. I think it's the H/h who are two lost souls who find what they need in each other. Nash is such a mess he has no idea how to have a relationship, but Lexi is like no one he's ever met. There were a few things that would have benefited from a longer book but overall a wonderful romantic story. Safe This was a great quick read. I didn't get the impression he's a manwhore, he's busy with his job. He does spend time in his thoughts thinking about past experiences, and about wanting to find a woman while he's on leave, but once he spied the h, there is no one else. OW drama as two woman at the pool come on to the H But he doesn't spare them a glance. (hide spoiler)]

Short read; but good. No cliffhanger. Nash connects with a young woman. There is a bit of suspense but it is just a minor, really minor, part of the story.

This one had soo many problems, I won’t even waste my time telling them. I will say that I hated the H, he was an asshole and not the likable kind either. The book has potential but didn’t pull it off. And that epilogue? Why would you even call it that?

He men are all so different, except they are all very much the Alpha Males we all love and desire. And Nash is no different. Though he did add an element of a**hole to him initially, he was rude, and a bit selfish. But the fact that he realized all the mistakes he made on his own, I mean after he took pleasure but didn't last to give Lexi pleasure and then was a total dick. I think he was just fighting himself and had been for so long that to lose his control and focus was his undoing (and probably about time). All this attitude and being Alpha Male (capital letters) was ingrained in him from his miserable early life to being a SEAL where it's expected. Lexi is such a different type of girl, I really liked her. To me she seemed more real, someone I could relate with because she wasn't the typical high-end, rich, snobby, I-get-everything-I-want female that is usually in these romances. Sometimes that is so overdone. Lexi is tough (from her upbringing), she's a ball buster, fiery, no-holds-barred, not backing down type of woman who is not afraid of Nash. She's blunt, straight to the point and one who deals with things her way. When you put these two together they appear to clash, but if you really look at it, they really are the same in every respect. They are both fighting against feeling for, caring for and depending on someone else. They don't like to let their guard down because that would be a disaster and neither would be able to function. So as they continue to interact and they each slowly force their way into the other's life, they just can't help what happens, and what happens takes them both by surprise. Now now now, did you think I was going to spoil it completely? Never!! These are just my rambling thoughts on these two characters and how I just adore Kaily Hart's style of romance !! I love to live vicariously through her stories and the characters she portrays!! I've said this in other reviews I've left for her other books, she has a loyal reader in me as long as she writes. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for poor Jake's story in Nail Down!!!!

This was a poorly written book. It had potential but the editing was a travesty and the complete collapse of the plot was unacceptable. The story is about a foxy jerk military guy who is rude to a "Welcome Home" volunteer at the airport. Later in the evening he intervenes when he sees her get cornered at a club. She gives him a ride home, one thing leads to another and another falls short in delivering the goods yadda yadda yadda. Their paths cross again and there is a hint towards a stalking problem then some uninteresting sex. The stalking problem is then discussed briefly, BAM its three days later and apparently they have been together during that time and he cured the stalking problem because its mentioned in one or two sentences. There are no prose describing those 3 days - no chapters, paragraphs or sentences that describe those 3 days in real time. Just the discussion about the stalker, some kissing in the garage and then its 3 days later. It concludes with a few bits and pieces of recollection, some processing and declarations, then a few other things happen and there you go. That is the freakin book. Whatever.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice quick easy read. Lexi and Nate first meet at an airport. He's in the military and she there to welcome them home. Of course they don't start off on the right front because Nate is an ass to her at the very beginning. They probably thought they would never see each other and again but of course they do. Nate and her are at the same bar and he sees her dancing. Later on he rescues her from an unpleasant situation, he gets a bit injured and she takes him ba I really enjoyed this book. From there the story unfolds. You find out where Nate is coming from and what he's been through. You get a little sense of Lexi too. I actually wish this book was a little longer and we could learn more about Lexi's background. There are some nice sexy parts and some sweet ones too. If you're looking for a story where you don't have to think or a story that will not leave you emotionally drained or angry. Give this a try. No cheating and no cliffhangers. The story ends on location 1741 of 1798 on my iPhone.

I needed something quick and mindless, and Pin Down fit the bill. No major character building, but enough to keep me interested. It was decent for a novella.

sooooo disappointed..... I mean I was expecting so much internal struggle and I didn't get it, I was expecting to be gutted when he left her but I didn't. I just wasn't emotionally involved like I had expected to be after reading the first chapter or 2. I was sadly very disappointed. However the writing wasn't awful, there were a lot of grammar errors but it was little things I was able to look over. Thankfully the military part didn't get to involved so I wasn't angry with any incorrect facts. sooooo disappointed..... 3 Stars Pin Down was a quick short story. The characters were interesting, Nash male lead and Lexi female lead. I loved the humor, the sexy time but at times I was confused on which characters point of view I was getting. One minute it was Lexi's POV and the next sentence would Nash's POV. Overall good story!! A cold one and a hug I started the series with book four and was hooked, checking this book out of the KU library to read next. It's a quick, easy read. Characters are developed slowly, the relationship follows a predictable course, and there's a nice HEA at the end. I like that there isn't a lot of 'headspace' or repetition and that the characters are likable, if sometimes insufferable. Next up is book two. Cute. Too short though and there was a heap of potential for more - her work, his work, the explicit text message sender (solved in a way we learned very little from it) and overall more from Nash, the ex special ops Seal and Lexie, the metal sculptor who offered him a hug at the airport on his return. They were cute, I would have liked more.

Sex or love? What was supposed to be just a welcome home greeting at the airport turned into a week of hot sex with no strings attached. But will love play a part? Or will it remain a no rules hookup? With great characters and a cute storyline this was a great read.

Good I enjoy the characters struggle in this book. Both come with chips in their shoulders, and while fighting the background they know, it's also a work in progress. Good book, not great, but I still enjoyed it. Good I enjoy the characters struggle in this book.
