Ms Abbott needs to take a break or leave it a bit longer before she writes her next Witch book. The stories are starting to get a little stale, samey, and there is very little character progression. Not a bad read but one for Adele Abbott fans only.

Loved it! I love these books. They are a fun read, with entertaining plots and fun loveable characters. Number 14 does not disappoint! Jill is at her P.I. best, leaving me wanting more and more. Thanks Adele Abbott for these books, they make me happy!

This is the latest novella in this series I've read, and each on I rated 3-4 stars more 4's then 3. I'm not going to keep reviewing them, you can read the 1st 10 to see what I thought or you can download the first one for free on Amazon I really recommend you do that if you like witch stories or funny British humor. Still like the series As I said before, this is a great series. Enjoy reading about the witches, warlocks, vampires and wizards. Also the Grand Witch, Grandma!

Jack and Jill's relationship is progressing, but I feel like it kind of just went from flirty liking each other to moving in and being an old married couple thats not very exciting or romantic. I know there is a one year gap between book 12 and 13, so maybe all of their progression happened then. They have a housewarming party in this one and we see one of many collisions of the 2 worlds. All of the bad witches and wizards have been MIA but in this book they start to come back. We don't know where they've been or whats going on, but I have a feeling something bad is on the horizon. Ma Chivers has said something about the phoenix in past books and she keeps saying things that are very daunting. This book is very similar to the others in that Jill is trying to balance her 2 lives and keep it all under wraps. I hope there is a little bit of growth or character progression in the next 10 books, otherwise its kind of becoming the same book just with different mysteries.

I see from the author's Facebook page that there are 24 or 25 books planned for this series. I'm not so sure that's a good idea unless we start seeing some major character growth. Not just with Jill, but some of the other characters too. The plotlines have been interesting enough to keep me reading, but the characters, I'm sorry, but the majority of them need work. Very Enjoyable Story! Mysteries, the paranormal, romance, crime, family (with their problems) and a smattering of adventure - all mixed with a bit of drama and a generous amount of humor. Who could ask for more?

As usual, PI (and witch) Jill Gooder has several items on her plate: ... her one-eyed cat, Winky, claims to be building a time machine. ... a wizard is shrinking vacant houses in Candlefield, putting them into snow globes, and selling them in the mortal town of Washbridge. ... vampires living in Washbridge are using a dive called Bar Scarlet to extract fresh blood from unsuspecting humans. ... several people, in both Candlefield and Washbridge, have died from spates of uncontrolled laughter. ... Jill is still keeping the fact that she's a witch a secret from Jack, but it's becoming more difficult by the day. ... Jill herself is being stalked by a man named Damon, with red hair and a red beard. He seems to know Jill, but she can't recall anyone by that name. That becomes a moot point when she finds Damon's body inside her office building, with a massive stab wound in the middle of his chest ...

I don't know why I haven't given up on this series. The books don't follow a traditional plot pattern. The protagonist just wanders from one place to another having the solutions to mysteries mostly fall into her lap. The books have no real beginning or ending. It's more like the written equivalent of a soap opera as if the books picks up on Monday where the last one left off on Friday. None of the characters are likeable, not even the cat! None of the characters show any growth or development. I don't know why I haven't given up on this series. The books don't follow a traditional plot pattern. Such Fun! Love It! I just love these books! While they’re not Pulitzer Prize books, they are funny, and just a blast to read. Five stars may seem like too many, but I give the rating based on this type of book and how good it is. I gave “All the Light We Cannot See” 5 stars because it was phenomenal! I gave this book 5 stars because it’s meant to be light and fun and it was! I listen on Audible because reading triggers my chronic migraines (major bummer), and I look forward to each new one!

Major Changes Vampires gone rogue. Lots and lots of them. A not-so-funny comedian. A beautiful snow globe that Kathy didn't have. The return of old non-friends. A store across the way that sells custard cremes buy one get one free. Jill's life has definitely changed. Is it for good or better? Next book should shed some light. I see the end coming. I am definitely sorry. However, will carry on. It is the least I can do. What? Major Changes Vampires gone rogue. Lots and lots of them. A not-so-funny comedian. Book 14 of the 'Witch' books follows the same pattern as the previous 13 books. Nice 'gentle sense of humour' and good Characters, although the book never goes into too much 'depth' about the characters themselves that does not matter too much with these books. If you like an easy read and a good laugh you should like the 'Witch' series. The plots are never complicated and the stories flow quite well. No laughing matter Another fine book in the series, this one focused on laughter not being the best medicine. Jill and Jack have a development in their relationship that is also not a laughing matter, nor are a couple of other events that take place. I really like how the author is able to intertwine mystery solving with Jill’s normal daily life.

Just okay I found myself skipping through the pages as the story just didn't seem to keep my interest as her previous books did. I don't know if I will continue with the series with the hope that it will pick up again, maybe one more. Secrets on the block Kingsland a good thing. Poor Hill so hard to tell the truth and the risk was high. Poor Jack knowing something was amiss but what. This sort was no joke and nothing to laugh at
