48 review for Philosophy of Education in Philippine Setting

I find that in reading Filipiniana textbooks, Filipino writers are great in summarizing concepts. This text was no different: it was able to provide a great insight to John Dewey's philosophy of education, as well as other central, philosophical ideas regarding education. Barring its poor editing, the first half of the book was great. I find it ironic that it goes against the concept it was teaching during the first half. Despite Dewey's insistence on democracy towards education, the second half I find that in reading Filipiniana textbooks, Filipino writers are great in summarizing concepts. This text was no different: it was able to provide a great insight to John Dewey's philosophy of education, as well as other central, philosophical ideas regarding education. Barring its poor editing, the first half of the book was great. I find it ironic that it goes against the concept it was teaching during the first half. Despite Dewey's insistence on democracy towards education, the second half goes about praising the New Constitution of 1973, and even justifies Martial Law. I understand that works had to be censored in order to be published during that harrowing time: this was, however, pandering and bias. The book could have done without the praise towards Marcos: it would have been a decent textbook otherwise.
