One of the greatest legends was of King Arthur and his Knights, brave warriors all. Could it be possible that the descendants of these warriors have become guardians that defend us from evil to this very day? When your time comes, if the blood in your veins is the same as the Knights, like young Abbey’s, Duty calls and your life will be changed forever. Enter the world where warriors come in all shapes and sizes. Enter the world of C.K. Dawn and the new series Netherwalker with book one, Cloak of Shadows, where warriors are honed into lethal fighting machines and evil is kept at bay. Sounds pretty ominous, doesn’t it? Probably because you haven’t met Abbey and her mentor, Lourdes! Abbey is priceless, her wit, candor and rough edges, not to mention her invisible sense of self brings humor and charm to a tale of good versus evil. Lourdie is a loner, far more powerful than her peers, she is unique among hunters and no one knows why she is so powerful. The two have been invited to Britain to hopefully find another hunter capable of being trained to do what Lourdie does. Too bad no one mentioned Temple, the often arrogant and aloof laird of the manor. While Abbey dubs him Mr. Hunky, Lourdie finds he unsettles her, oh wait, could she be fighting a romantic attraction to the man? All’s not hearts and magic and flowers, though, evil is stalking the hunters and every second spent training MUST pay off as other worldly creatures threaten humanity. Heroes will fall, hearts will break, but the war goes on… Sadly, I don’t remember King Arthur and his Round Table having an Abbey or a Lourdes among them! Thank you for correcting that oversight, C. K. Dawn! With brilliant attention to each scene, from the smell of sweat, the clashing of weapons and the chaotic action, C.K.Dawn has created a spellbinding world with characters that jump off the pages and appear before your very mind’s eye. The romance takes second chair to the action and the lives of these characters. Get ready to fight the good fight alongside the descendants of the world’s best warriors. Perhaps C. K. Dawn cast a spell over this tale, because I for one could NOT put it down! Brilliant writing, perfect pacing and exhausting action. Loved it! DEEP WATERS by Alicia Rades - Read 1/18/2018 Still waters run deep, but the churning waves of ancient secrets and perpetual lies will cause a storm of unparalleled proportions when one teen discovers a merman has washed ashore and learns that even her father cannot be trusted with the truth to the questions she raises. DEEP WATERS by Alicia Rades is young adult fantasy that is filled with adventure, tension and characters that define the meaning of friendship and trust! Bree knows she is part of a community of mer-hybrids, that her roots lay in the sea, but she wasn’t prepared to find that the merpeople she came from were not extinct, but that the city council has long held the truth from their people. Forced to leave the only home she has ever known, robbed of the magic she possesses, Bree is about to show everyone in Sea Haven City that she is a force to reckoned with and she will not stop until she has uncovered every barnacle under every stone. They say the truth will set you free, but does that apply to Sea Haven City? Lots of action, with the fierce determination and raw daring of a teen on a mission, Bree is most likely the girl who should have been voted Most Likely to Succeed! A fun read that holds a junior “Mission Impossible” vibe! I received a complimentary copy of FIRE AND FANTASY from C.K. Dawn. DEEP WATERS is part of that anthology. PROPHECY OF DARKNESS Read 1/19/2018 Travel on a perilous journey, battle the unknown forces that block their way, discover the trials of finding the Tri-Gard and feel the well-timed moments of humor and heart color this tale in vivid shades of fantasy as a prince and a princess find new inner strengths and love in a world where magic means life and traitors hide in plain sight. A great anthology full of great stories. I especially liked The Dragon Scale Lute, it is not really a tale of dragons, but a story full of magic, treachery, excitement and suspense. It captivates you with great descriptive writing, a gripping plot and appealing characters. Written in the first person, Kaiya's innocence, how easily she is manipulated, bravery and her hidden depths comes through well. For this story alone it is well worth the 99c I paid for it. This is an amazing collection, full of authors whose books I've long read and enjoyed, a large number of whom are among my favorites. I'm not done yet but so far I've read the contributions from the following (in the order I read them, admittedly cherry-picking contributions by authors I love): Kris Austen Radcliffe (a wonderful addition to her Fate–Fire-Shifter–Dragon series; Daisy, Ladson and Dragon in one great adventure - if you know this series you're already drooling; if you don't you can This is an amazing collection, full of authors whose books I've long read and enjoyed, a large number of whom are among my favorites. Wilson (her The Transformation of Anna, this is an old friend - first of her Cornerstone Deep series - originally published as a standalone that I gave a glowing review of last April), CK Dawn (a kick-a** heroine, who is Lancelot's heir, and Knights of the Round Table still secretly defending the world from evil creatures), Jessica Cage (what really happened to Mythology's Sphinx?), Meg Xuemei X (the last Siren has one chance to save her future, her love, and the fate of the entire world), and JC Kang (Dragon Scale Lute, the darn enjoyable first book in her Daughter of the Dragon Throne series). All of these were wonderful and then at the end there's an added treat from J.A. Culican & Felicia Starr (a contribution from two of my absolute favorite authors: "the love between a goddess and a shifter is destined to become a legend… or end in heartbreak": oh yeah, you just know before starting that thus was gonna be really really goooood). Frankly just getting the above stories makes this anthology, at 99¢, be an almost embarrassingly great steal of a deal. I greatly suspect, based on the company they're in, that the other stories will be as good. Since this anthology is already dramatically more than 5 stars, I won't even try to rate it when I have take that into account! Highly recommended is a woeful understatement.

There are so many books in this. The Transformation of Anna is one. Charlene Wilson did an awesome job writing about a family of brothers looking for their soul mates. They are lawkeepers in this realm and in doing this Anna's soul calls out to him. What to do? This is a story that has twists and turns with love and hate included. I highly recommend it. This review is based on Frost Kay's entry of this boxed set, Siren's Lure. Great story set in a well hydrated world. I received a copy of this book for free but wanted to share my honest opinion here. This story is a great read for those that are fans of mythology. You will feel a bond with Hayjen from the start, and want to keep reading to discover more about Lilja. If you enjoy reading this story, I recommend checking out Rebel's Blade, book 1 in the Aermian Feuds series. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Prophecy of Darkness by Michelle Lynn and Michelle Bryan. Full of vivid imagery, despicable villains, mystery and magic, this book is everything you want in a fantasy novel. The compelling story will keep you turning pages until late in the night. I'm usually the sort of reader who sees a plot twist well in advance, but there is a stunning twist at the end of this novel that I didn't see coming. Highly recommended. So far, this review is only for Wendy Knight's story, The Soul's Allegiance This is an enjoyable book for this series, you should definitely read the first book in this series, as this one has spoilers for that book. In this book, we get the POV from Navi's friends, Konstanz and Bryson, this book shows their thoughts during some of the events that took place in book one, and we get to see how Konstanz and Bryson's relationship developed into more despite Bryson feeling an infatuation with Navi. There is some rehashing of the events in the first book, but I enjoyed getting a better understanding of Bryson and Konstanz because they weren't exactly my favorites after reading book one, The Soul's Agent. I was really ticked at Konstanz for interfering in Navi and Alec's relationship, and I was also ticked at Bryson for being a douche at times, so I liked getting to see more of where they were coming from, so I could root for them more. I will admit that I enjoy Navi and Alec as characters more, but I stilled enjoyed the progression of the romance between Konstanz and Bryson, and these two have some cute moments. Fun read for anyone who enjoyed the first book, and of course, Wendy Knight's writing is on point! This book still has some of the action that the first book does, and keeps me wanting to keep on reading! This is a wonderful series, and I want more!

The Good Stories Outweigh The Bad Whilst there were some really good stories in this collection, there were some really not-so-good ones too. I hate to leave negative views, since the authors generally put a lot of time and effort into their work, but some just came off very rushed. There were quite a few books that lacked some serious editing, and there were a couple that seemed like there was no editing, it came across as a rough draft it as so awful, it took away from the story. I did read all the stories, all the way through in this collection, even the badly/no edited ones. There were some really exceptional stories, which I thoroughly enjoyed, that I even purchased the next book and one boxed set. I found some new authors, whose works I will be reading more of. I'm not one for reading in the fantasy genre, but I found a couple that I'm going to be reading more of. Overall, the good stories really did outweigh the the bad editing in others, and ones that just didn't appeal to me. This is worth reading.

I read The Woman in the Wind from this collection .... I was drawn into this book very quickly, and enjoyed it a lot. Perhaps because I recently read A Kingdom In Chaos, so the characters were fresh in my mind. It was fun to learn Elaina's backstory. Although Elaina and Marcus seemed to do the "love at first sight” thing. It would have been interesting to see more development of the relationship, rather than just two quick incidents. But this is a novella after all, and she is essentially a goddess. So it might have been difficult to explain their love, otherwise. But I thought that things fell together very well, and I didn't have nagging questions about plot or events. Note: I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I haven't read the whole boxset yet. This review is for Deep Waters by Alicia Rades. I really enjoyed reading Deep Waters. I was quickly drawn into the story and wanted to know more about Bree and the small town of Sea Haven. There were so many directions the story could of went and I found myself constantly trying to guess and figure out what was going to happen next. I liked Bree's courage and determination. Even though she was scared and it seemed impossible she made her way back to Sea Haven I haven't read the whole boxset yet. This review is for Deep Waters by Alicia Rades. A very well done collection I appreciated every single story in this collection, and feel that anyone who fantasy of any kind should read it also. It's a five star read for sure. I bought it originally for Jason Paul Rice's story, which is very good, and ended finding other authors as well. For the purpose of this review the novella Scent of a Dragon is only been read. Daisy Pavlovich is a shifter and healer left stranded by her now ex boyfriend.
