I got this one because the fruit and vegetable theme intrigued me. I never expected my youngest granddaughter to love it, but this book has always been her favorite. She'd asked me to read it to her over and over, now she reads it to herself. It's a short book and the illustrations are extremely simple. It's not the type of book you'd expect kids to love so much, but they do, and the lesson within sticks with them. This author and mom has a special talent to touch young readers. I received a free kindle book of I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables by Shelley Admont from Amazon for fair review. I gave it almost a four star. It was a charming little tale about a family of bunnies. The youngest bunny only wanted to eat candy. Candy for breakfast, lunch & dinner & in between. He sneaks into the kitchen & props a variety of items to climb up to the high cabinet where his mother has placed the candy out of reach. He sneaks into the kitchen & props a variety of items to climb up to the high cabinet where his mother has placed the candy out of reach. He tumbles down in a crash & when he comes to his senses he has shrunk into a miniature rabbit. His brothers rush to the rescue & encourage him to eat his vegetables. With each bite he takes, he grows a little. This was too much like a hare-brained Alice in Wonderland for my tastes. That's why I gave it only a three, almost a four star. This is an adorable book about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. This book can be used with younger children when nutrition is the topic of discussion. Although, it is important to let the younger children know that this book is fiction and that people do not grow at that rapidly. I would say that this book would be best suited for K-2.

I Love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables is a delightful story to use to encourage children to try new fruits and vegetables and one that my preschool children in the classroom loved and asked to hear again. The story brought out the concept that fruits and vegetables help children grow big and strong using a cute little bunny named Jimmy.

A story of why kids should eat fruit and veggies. The character had never tried the food yet he despised it. In the end he liked the food (of course). My question is. ..what had he been eating before this? Perhaps if it had been one type of veggie then the story would have made more sense to me. The illustrations and coloring were good and keep the reader engaged.

Fruits and veggies I liked this book because it reminds you to eat your fruits and vegetables. And not a lot of candy. I put five stars because fruits and vegetables make you stronger and candy makes your teeth rot

Nice book! Is a nice way to teach the kids the importance of eating vegetables... Jimmy wants some candy and he search for the new bag of candy in the kitchen but falls off the chair and this made him small.. eating vegetables is the only way to grow again!...

Downloaded for free from Amazon.co.uk Well I thought this was okay, although my 4-year-old didn't really like it. We didn't even get all the way through before he had had enough. We really liked Me Ecanta Comer Frutas Y Verduras. I am trying to learn Spanish with my daughter, and we’re just getting to the point where we can manage simple books like this. A nice way to help convince your kiddos to eat their fruits and vegetables. We particularly appreciated that it was broken up so that a few sentences at a time were translated, rather than longer paragraphs. There were a few times I had to look something up because we couldn’t quite make out how what was said in Spanish translated to English. I think it’s one of those things where we just have to remember that not everything translates exactly. We will be looking for more bilingual books like Me Ecanta Comer Frutas y Verduras from Shelley Admont. Hopefully, it won’t be too much longer before we can translate ourselves and won’t need the bilingual editions! Uhm.. Nos gusto mucho el libro titulado Me Ecanta Comer Frutas y Verduras. Es una libro con ilustraciones sencillas y divertidas y utiles. Somos principiantes en Español, y este libro era justo lo que necesitamos.

A short, cute story. This short, cute story was fun to read. It is written in English while the Spanish is written alongside in bold font. The story encourages children to choose to eat healthy fruit and vegetables instead of sweets. The moral appears to be that healthy food makers our bodies grow big and strong. Colourful illustrations accompanied the story on most pages. The English written content was good and well-punctuated. I am not qualified to judge the Spanish sections accurately but the A short, cute story. This short, cute story was fun to read.
