The stories themselves are good, easy to read while still challenging a beginner with difficulty progression. However, I bought the book due to it being paired with audio files. There are two links at the back of the book to download these files and I found several issues: 1. Only the first link works. That means you don’t get 60 of the stories to listen to. 2. The first 40 are one continuous stream making it inconvenient to find stories and listen in the car (my original plan). 3. Well-structured and well-paced. Formatting isn't particularly pleasing to the eye, and there are numerous typos. While this may just prove the author's authentically native German skills, sometimes he translates the German by inventing English words (e.g. "educationists"). Nonetheless, the book is a very helpful exercise that provides a gloss for each story alongside reading comprehension questions. Well-structured and well-paced.
