Nothing but ash and blood. The rebel army is burning all the ports on its way to Verose. Maxim is trying to gather allies and also he is trying to understand how the rebel army has become so powerful. He learns that Rowan is still alive. I like where the story is going but the art style isn't great. As for magic in this entire series, nothing has yet been explained and I'd really like to know something, anything really. Again for this part, on my ebook it is so very hard to read. I just wish that Nothing but ash and blood. The rebel army is burning all the ports on its way to Verose. I just wish that the writers would consider people with ebooks because this isn't the first graphic novel where the print is quite hard to read. 3 stars

May be moving into the best of the series so far. Epic battle on a big scale ahead

So if you remember learning the structure of a story in elementary school that every story has rising action, the climax, the falling action, and a resolution? This issue of the graphic novel series, in my opinion, is the climax. The Rebel Army is starting to attack different ports with its sights set on Verose. I enjoyed this installment in the series.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. The clothes and architecture of this series almost seems Roman-like. I know that the clothes part is wrong and it is set in medieval times, (not only that but the shields, swords, military organization, political structure and everything else is wrong too), but it is still sort of similar. Also the cover art is really cool!

I love these freaking comics and I’m so sad they’ll be coming to an end soon!

Oh man, is this series getting so good the deeper we go into it. It's really kind of sad at the same time, if you've read the adult fantasy novel series of Kell, Rhys, and Lila you know all that happens with Maxim later on in his life. I wish there was more time with this very complex character, and here we are only two more issues left of this arc and comic series (I think?). Anyway, Maxim comes up with a good strategy to find out more against the rebel army and to combat them. I think its worki Oh man, is this series getting so good the deeper we go into it. Anyway, Maxim comes up with a good strategy to find out more against the rebel army and to combat them. I think its working pretty well, I even gasped a bit at the end of this issue because of said plan. I see where Rhys gets it from (big Cheshire cat smile here).  The overall story of Maxim is just amazing, finding out so much from a side character not many liked all that much from the Darker Shade of Magic series. But, here we are rooting for Maxim and wanting to know everything that happens to him to make him the king he is in the ADSOM series we love so much.
