At the end of the Night of Knives, Rowan escaped to White London and now he has gathered the rebel army. Back in Verose, Maxim is training the soldiers and they get a message saying that the rebel army draws near. This was a mess in terms of art. I liked the art much better in the Night of Knives but this felt like a completely different style. Also, I have an ebook of this and the print was so hard to read. The story was also quite messy. First of all, thank you so much to Edelweiss+ and Titan Comics for an eARC of this!!! If you know anything about me, you know how much I love V.E. Schwab and Shades of Magic! I was thrilled when she announced she was doing a comic series. This is the third and final arc of The Steel Prince, and I absolutely cannot wait to read more! The artwork is dark and dramatic as always, and we follow Maxim Maresh as he continues to lead his rebel army. Enjoying the art in this one too. Kind of not feeling the story, though. It's just a bit bland in this volume! Enjoying the art in this one too. Kind of not feeling the story, though. It's just a bit bland in this volume!

We are starting the third and final arc of this comic series (as of now) for A Darker Shade of Magic: The Steel Prince. In this first issue of the arc, we see how the unrest in the people picks up speed with the rebel army gaining new leadership. Also, Maxim's training of the soldiers is paying off, but still fighting a bit dirty as usual.  The dramatic artwork is still good, really emphasizes on Maxim and the new rebel army's leader-chills, guys. I can't wait till we get more of this new arc and learn more about how Maxim earns his titles within the kingdom he will one day rule.  Favorite quote: The rest of you. Take note. Outnumbered is not the same as outmatched.

I felt like there was a lot going on and a lot packed in, it wasn't difficult to follow and I was able to get the main idea of what is happening and what is going to happen in the other stories.
