Well, let's see. This had semi-poor writing. The blurb was completely misleading. She wasn't "raging" over her cancelled wedding and the pregnancy was at the very end. Also big huge RED FLAG ALERT! ☠ The hero completely and in all ways touched the heroine without her consent. One: he hadn't said a word to her how he felt about her and he had no idea how she felt about him and Two: SHE WAS ASLEEP!!! Licking her nipple, putting his fingers inside her (even if she did orgasm in her sleep) is absolutely wrong. No, just no. ☠ Plus, he never told her he did it. Never apologized. I can't recall if he even said it was wrong of him to do it. Other things to bothered me: ✘ The writing went from sexy to just bland in the book. ✘ The first sex scene was descriptive and sexy then every other one after that was closed door. ✘ The author actually used "twat" to describe the vagina. Come on, that is not sexy at all. ✘ The "extra epilogue" on her website went totally 180 and had anal happening. ✘ It was like two different authors wrote this book. ✘ The characters felt immature. The hero was 45 and the heroine 25. ✘ No clear indication if the h slept with the fiance. Kinda hinted but then kinda said they didn't. It was never clear. ✘ Characters were one dimensional and pretty boring ✘ Plus hero looked like a tool wanting to get the engagement ring back. I get that it was a family heirloom but it just came across as douchey. The whole story was eye roll worthy, the internal dialog cringe worthy, the hero's actions were this side of illegal and the writing was bland with no heart. Pass on this author.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. It's one thing to have the age difference and taboo aspects of the relationship between an older man and his son's ex-fiance. It's another thing for the H to sexually molest the h when she is sleeping, even if her body did respond. Her unconscious response does not equal consent and I lost all respect for the H when he could not control his desires in that moment. Oh and for God's sake the woman deserved a new ring! Otherwise this book is ok, and likely would have received three stars from me. Forbidden Wow I can't say about this author! I have read many books by S.E Law and can they don't disappoint! So if you love forbidden romance with just the right amount of angst this book is it. A must read! I can't read them fast enough so I end up re-reading them and they are still just as good if not better. You can easily fall in love with the charters. A little slow Not bad, a little bit slow in some places, but still a decent read. A girl and her future father-in-law lusting after each other. The end seems a bit rushed and the awkwardness of telling their families were glossed over.

First and foremost, I read this because I'm looking for something different to read. The premise of this one is a bit on the unusual side but I still decided to jump into it. This is actually not taboo, on my opinion. It reads as a whirlwind romance with an age gap trope/theme thrown into it. I love the chemistry between Matt and Cora. It was really great.❤ Some too convenient things happened along the way. This was such a fun and flirty read. The romance between both Matt and Cora was fiery and sweet. A perfect balance. I thought Cora handled the whole Marky thing with a little too much calm. I on the other hand wouldn’t have been as restrained. To each their own. But the story was great and I adored the characters. 5 Stars!

DNF at 79% Honestly, I'm so disappointed with this book, that I can't even express it with words. As a person who loves Taboo books, this was looking really exciting, but with every page, my frustration grew up. There were so many wrong things with this book. Like how can a person not know his SO is homosexual, even if they lived together so many years? The characters were one of the most boring ones, I've ever read, and the writing was just as lame. Cora was dumb. And that's it. That was her main DNF at 79% Honestly, I'm so disappointed with this book, that I can't even express it with words. I actually lived the first part of this book right down to the engagement party. We'd know each other as long as I can remember.... Diaper buddies..... In high school we crossed the line from friendship to dating and talk of marriage. Long story short I, he came home from Atlanta to actually propose. He was late for our date so I met him in town. We sat in his car and h was miserable. My thoughts were he had met someone in Atlanta and fell for HER. was right up to the Her.... It was a HIM. Like Cora I saw the signs, hesitancy with being intimate, etc., and I guess I knew in my heart he was gay. I knew him better than most anybody did. And our story stopped there. No engagement party..... No proposal....no ring....no happy ever after. And I blamed myself. I too am curvy and J didn't care. He did love me.....as a friend loves a friend. I took responsibility for his preference and carried it way too long. This author wrote, after Cora's encounter with Marky after the engagement party, that Cora knew this was not on her. Marky's choices had nothing to do with her. She had enough confidence to go on.....I did not. There wasn't a handsome Father in law to pick up my pieces and put me back together again. Thank you S.E. Law! I wish I could express how much reading this story helped me on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The sun seems a little brighter. co

Cora tries her best to hold it together but keeps getting distracted by the handsome, virile Matt as she worries that something has happened to him and ponders his avoidance of her romantic advances. She doesn’t have to wait long for the reason, which blows up her plans for the perfect life with a rich, handsome husband. I found the time spent on her fears and pacing rather tedious. Just as Cora is drawn to Matt’s handsome face and ripped body, he is drawn to her beauty and voluptuous body, although guiltily. When Matt learns that the engagement is off, he tries to contact Cora for three days before he learns she is staying at her families cabin for time to deal with the broken engagement and to dry her tears. Matt uses the ruse that he is concerned that Cora might throw away the family heirloom engagement ring that Marky gave her and heads off to the cabin to see Cora. You can guess where the storyline heads, but it is at this juncture that the books moves into 5 star romance and sexual encounters. By the epilogue, I am madly in love with the main characters and their older man/younger woman romance find their HEA.

There is a weird sex scene where consent is not given, Cora is literally asleep... it is so out of character for Matt. There is nothing that indicates that he would be ok with taking advantage of a woman while she’s asleep. Even a few pages after the scene he says he can’t take advantage of her... well it’s kinda too late for that. It was so weird and unnecessary. 3. Their relationship seemed too quick, not enough actual dialogue between the two to make it believable... it’s just rough. Regardless all of this, there aren’t any typos or glaring grammatical issues and it is a very quick read. So while I didn’t think it was amazing, it definitely wasn’t out right terrible either. It just was not super flushed out and was not critiqued enough during editing.

So much more than what I expected! I was pleasantly surprised at how deep and emotional this book was. I was not a fan of Markey, lol, his name alone was a turn-off, but seeing as how Cora was hooked on him, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. The story built this emotional tension, you could feel a wave of something heart wrenching is coming, but the momentum had me turning pages and reading it right through to the end. I couldn't put it down! By the time the plot point turns us and the story switches to Cora and how she deals with things, I was ready for Matt to make his move, and it was spectacular! I think the buildup to the title was perfect, and I loved this story. I highly recommend this story!

The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

The tension between them is thick and they both feel attracted to each other. This book was pretty steamy and I actually liked it for the most part. My only real issue was the fact that Matt decided to touch Cora while she was asleep, which was totally inappropriate and not ok. Besides that, it was a good forbidden romance. I liked how everything turned out and it wasn't solely based on the s*x. But I did have a real issue with Matt being with Cora while she was unconscious.

I love the friend’s dad trope, though this was ex-fiancé technically. Same thing. Marky, Cora’s fiancé, pissed me off. He basically cheated on her and she never acted pissed about it? He said he was gay, but that isn’t an excuse to cheat on her even if it was with a dude. It wasn’t specifically said that he did so but it was implied. Still complete bullshit. After Matt, Marky’s dad, came to the cabin where Cora was staying and rescued her from the fire, he fingered Cora while she was sleeping. W I love the friend’s dad trope, though this was ex-fiancé technically. Same thing. Marky, Cora’s fiancé, pissed me off. He basically cheated on her and she never acted pissed about it? I mean.. this was supposed to be a sweet book, not that kind of book. It was a little shocking seeing as Matt is supposed to be the Prince Charming type of character in this book. Ha. I forgive him though. Cora talked to herself a little bit too much. Kinda got sick of reading her thoughts to herself in italics alllll the time. It felt awkward. Anyway, still enjoyed this and liked the epilogue. Nice HEA.

I love this book! The story of Cora and Matt is full of lust, love, a bit of heartbreak and a fire! Cora is engaged to Matt's son, Marky. The night of their engagement party, Cora realizes something is wrong but Marky won't tell her. Matt too, can see something is wrong and can't seem to take his eyes off Cora. Marky's confession at the end of the party will leave Cora confused, a bit saddened and in need of a getaway. It will also start them on a journey of exploration and love that neither will realize until their secluded time in the cabin is over. When it all settles down, Cora and Matt will find themselves together, starting a journey together that will make them a family. I am volunteering my honest review for an ARC copy of this book.

I absolutely adore a great read, and this talented Author has designed another must read release for us. S.E. Law is an incredibly gifted Author with talent to spare. Her Forbidden Fantasies Series is going to hook you. In her latest publication, My Fiancee's Dad, you are introduced to Cora and her soon to be Father-In-law, Matt. After a disastrous engagement dinner, the plot only thickens and when Cora takes some time for herself, she is greeted with an unexpected but much welcomed guest. You should be as this is one much deserved happily ever after. Delicious Romance. I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers copy of My Fiancee's Dad in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. True to form, S.E. Law only publishes top quality books for each of us, and you'll never go wrong with anything published by her.

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable as well as a little taboo. The characters were interesting and likable. Marky irritated me quite a bit at first but later I understood that he just wasn’t sure how to admit to himself, let alone everyone else, the truth. Cora was way more understanding and kind about the situation than I think that I would be. The way that she willingly went away to come to terms with it showed great maturity. Cora and Matt seemed to have lots in common. There are a lot of feels in this story. Cora and Matt have an amazingly awesome happy ever after that made me smile and I think that you will too. I recommend reading this book.

DNF @ 52% The Hero was super paternalistic... it was weird. The Heroine not having a conversation with her fiancé after discovering gay porn on his laptop was super odd and a red flag for their relationship. Her fiancé could've broken up their relationship in so many ways without saying he's gay–he could've just said he's not in love with her anymore. Also, the fact that the Hero (the Heroine's fiancé's Dad) assumed his son was gay–no bisexual but gay–why didn't he approach his son about his concerns... that maybe he was marrying the wrong person? I think the author wanted it to appear that the Hero wasn't out of touch with his kid, but it just made him look like he didn't have a close relationship with his kid. Finally, the Heroine was so dumb: she put lighter fluid on a house fire, almost setting her cottage on fire! So freaking dumb.

Really juvenile If your 12 year old suddenly tried to write erotica (perish the thought), you might get this. This is poorly written, redundant, and unintentionally hilarious. I suggest a couple of bottles of cheap wine (to fit the tone), and a drinking game of a slug every time the hero refers to the heroine's size and curves. Just kidding. Don't do that. You'll die. The hero is skeevily unheroic, taking advantage of the heroine when she is asleep and recovering fr on m shock. I actually wondered if the author was male! Surely no woman would be so unkind?! No worth the time I used to read it.

I absolutely adored this book. This is what I needed to read right now. I've been searching for a cutesy little romance and that is exactly what I got from this book. The beginning was a little slow, but once I got past it, the book went uphill from there. At times I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book. I honestly would recommend this book to anyone in search of a good, short romance. Like I said before, once you get past the beginning, it speeds up from there. It's one of those books that you just can't put down, it was that good! By the first impression of this book, I thought it was going to be intense and drama filled, but instead I found myself smiling at Matt and Cora's interaction.
