DNF 15% At 15% I finished 1.5 books. It was painful, and included a LOT of eyerolling 🙄 The storyline was okay, but the writing was ... just ... how could it even get published ...? Do not recommend 👎🏻

Mixed feelings. I loved premise and stories but I feel very conflicted over the whole love triangle thing. It's evolution was gut-churning and it's resolution too abrupt...and I hate love triangles as a plot device any time. There should have been a better evolution of feelings. However, the humor is fun and I really like Kat. I wish there was more character development for Egya and Dierdre and Justin. I feel the stories would have been better by exploring their POVs even if this made the books longer. The short story at the end was very frustrating. Kat often ruminates on stuff she learned from Aldie and also he mentions how she came alive while investigating his parents death but this story encompasses none of that as it seems Mary is the one who learned so much in the Unseelie court and truly investigated. If that had been it's own story I would have given it 2 stars. I look forward very much to more of Kat.

Enjoyable While I enjoyed this set, I couldn't help but be frustrated by the inconsistencies and the repetitions throughout. The Apu was introduced as Sal, then his name changed to Seth later on with no explanation, etc. The most infuriating part, tho, was the final novella, Shattered Vows. In all the books leading up to it shared bits and pieces of Aldie and Kat's relationship, such as the orchids not having even been planted yet and the wedding not even being anywhere close to happening until 5 Enjoyable While I enjoyed this set, I couldn't help but be frustrated by the inconsistencies and the repetitions throughout. In all the books leading up to it shared bits and pieces of Aldie and Kat's relationship, such as the orchids not having even been planted yet and the wedding not even being anywhere close to happening until 53 years into the future and Kat having had a huge part in singlehandedly solving the murders, yet all of that was thrown out the window and that whole plot was rewritten as tho none of the other books existed. I did enjoy the premise, but so much was just left hanging or was too inconsistent for me.

Definitely one of those books that mixed A LOT of supernatural in 1 place Lots going on, lost me at times with all of the countries and languages introduced, never mind the never-ending list of Others, but interesting nonetheless. Kat both irritated me and impressed me. On the one hand, selfless in trying to help save the world but also selfish in how she treated people. Yet, I wasn't happy with what happened to her at the end. And I am still trying to figure out what I missed with Egya. Not overly surprised, but did expect that there would have been something to show the progression rather than a leap.

Kat is bad*** Kat was easy to fall for while reading this series. She kicks butt and looks good doing so. She grows and develops as a person which oftentimes authors forget to do for their characters. I’d definitely recommend this series. The reason why I gave 4 stars is the lack of editing. The book/s could really stand to be looked over. In one book Justin mentions Kat not liking coffee and then all of a sudden she’s drinking it all the time. Just one example but my only complaint for these boo Kat is bad*** Kat was easy to fall for while reading this series. She kicks butt and looks good doing so. Once you look past the repetition (I swear at one point I loathed the term "soul mate") the books are quite interesting. I was very surprised that the ending wasn't super quick, but instead well thought out. Read the series in about a week. Found myself wanting to pick up my kindle and read at any possible moment. Loved the differences in the characters, the unexpected twists and turns, and the overall build up. Zinnia is a character I think most young females can relate too, a bit odd and insec Once you look past the repetition (I swear at one point I loathed the term "soul mate") the books are quite interesting. Gripping I was looking for a diversion from reality and found it in this series. Meant to stop reading after one, didn’t mange it...going to scour the shelves for the next part... Truth avatars, dead gods, Others of beauty and betrayal, anything you could want in a fantasy series in one place.

A Violent Romp Through Freshman Year Possibly the most irreverent fantasy that you will read this year. This fantasy includes the supposition that every fairy tale and every myth from every people of the earth really happened and what could occur when every one of those characters and monsters comes to life and attempts to form a society.

The books in this series are Amazing I did however have a lot of trouble with Amazon kindle unlimited. Even though I actually bought the book about halfway through it there was a glitch and the book wouldn't load on the screen so I had to finish it by loading it book by book. Not the authors fault though just an amazon issue. The books in this series are Amazing I did however have a lot of trouble with Amazon kindle unlimited. Great Read Wow, that was a hell of a series. I really loved Kat, quirks and all, I'm sad to say goodbye to this series and it's brilliant world building, storyline and characters. I loved all the crazy adventures they found themselves in and it was entertaining to be a part of it if even just in my head. Great Read Wow, that was a hell of a series. Interesting world within our world Interesting world within our world. What if all the Gods decided to leave one day? Suddenly all magic was gone and the previously immortal beings became human. How would they survive in our mundane world.

I give up. I got to book 8 and I just didn't enjoy it. The first couple of books were silly and fun but it just dragged on after book four. DNF. I give up. I got to book 8 and I just didn't enjoy it. The first couple of books were silly and fun but it just dragged on after book four. DNF.
