Manipulatives can be almost anything – blocks, shapes, spinners or even paper that is cut or folded. ... Manipulatives can also be tools to help students solve problems.manipulatives are effective for the following reasons: they are multisensory, they represent ideas in more than one way, they promote communication among students, and they increase confidence, leading to lessened confusion and deepened understanding. When these skills are difficult, children can become easily frustrated and avoid activities involving manipulation, resulting in less refined skills due to a lack of practice. Children who are lacking in these skills often have poor self esteem and confidence as a result.Math Manipulatives make learning math interesting and enjoyable. Give students the choice of working on a page of problems or solving a problem with colorful and interestingly shaped blocks, and there's no contest. Manipulatives intrigue and motivate while helping students learn.Manipulatives help students learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning .Manipulation is an emotionally unhealthy psychological strategy used by people who are incapable of asking for what they want and need in a direct way,” says Sharie Stines, a California-based therapist who specializes in abuse and toxic relationships.Manipulation can be a way of avoiding blame. While some people avoid blame as a way to control or abuse another person, others do so because they fear judgment, have low self-esteem, or struggle to face their own shortcomings. Social norms. Some forms of manipulation are normal, and perhaps even beneficial. I really appreciate the writing style of author and really love this book .

Illusion... a deceptive appearance or impression. Ever since I started perceiving this world from my point of view, I've seen this deceptive appearance of various fields and education is one of them. Now, why education? After all, it's a way to become 'educated'. But do we really get educated only by going to schools, colleges and universities? Another deception which I find here, is this thought process that we are studying so that we can settle with a good job and earn money. I really feel lik Illusion... a deceptive appearance or impression. I really feel like laughing when I think about this. What kind of laugh, you must have understood already. Well yea, for getting a good job and living a good life, money, is important but is this the only reason why you go to all these institutions? This book will give that answer to you. The author unravels the difference between 'education' and 'education system' and how we get controlled by them, starting from parents to children and the cycle continues. In this book we get to see how this system manipulates our mind set turning human beings into robots who only follow orders yet with this thought that we are practicing our free will. But does this book only points out the faults? No. It also provides best possible solutions that can be implemented to change this cycle. The author has given a huge importance to critical thinking, which according to me as well, is one of the most important aspects of a human being that needs to be developed from a very young age in order to prevent oneself from being manipulated psychologically. Lastly, the author talks about how we are getting manipulated by various ways and from numerous sides. It's very important to know the hows of manipulation in order to not being manipulated. One of that hows is 'nudging' as stated by the author which we see every moment. How? Just pick the book and start reading, you'll understand. One of the best things which I liked about this book is that the author did a thorough research for this book and this can be understood without even going to the references page at the end of the book. With proper images to explain some concepts, the author has done a brilliant job in explaining his point of view. So my dear learners, as we all know that we learn from the moment we take our first breath till our last, shall we learn about one of the biggest systems which 'sells' us lessons through this book? Before finishing I will only add that at the end of the day it's you who are learning, so if you really want to be educated or only be studying for the sake of a job, which is good as well; your choice. But, as the author suggested, those who have different viewpoints, let's not suppress them as well. Thank You!

The book has three parts. 🍁In the first part the author compels us to think over the fact that our requirements and technology have changed drastically but we still have the same standard curriculum for years. He emphasises on the fact that “Education is everyday and everywhere, the only thing you need to pay is attention.” 🍁He has done a deep research on a lot of loopholes in the education system. He throws insights on why and how teaching about money management, food science right from schooling is important. 🍁In the second part the author throws light on understanding the solutions. He explains the importance of critical thinking and how it may influence ones living. The author explains how we are suppressing the critical thinking of a child because of the norms that are rooted in us ever since human beings came into existence. The best take away from this part is never waste time on things you don’t need. 🍁The third part he gives ideas on how one can manufacture consent in others to get their way out. He discusses the physiology of layman and how it’s manipulated by people from higher authorities to fulfil their needs Review 🍁 We have all read many self motivational books but the author has contrasting views on reading such books and after reading this book I feel the same. I really like his way of explaining things using various charts and examples. One can connect easily to it. By reading this book I’m sure our perspective towards certain things explained in the book will change. A must read.

Author has talked about the ill effects and worsening of the level of education standards, and its failures. He also discusses the importance of citizens, awareness among them can bring the change.Talking about history of schooling system to going about discussing the need of schools in the early age and in between to not to forget the points made in chapter 3, I am surprised of his depth of work and dedication towards the change. Of course this book is just a research work and opinion, being a reviewer and critic, I want to raise a point over here; ¨ Calling out someone over their caste, creed, religion, race etc is really RIGHT TO FREEDOM? ¨ Also one more thing, ¨ Rights are not rights, if authorities can take it away in any crisis. ¨ - can´t agree more, but anything that is against the integrity and sovereignty of India has to be taken down. Is it not our FUNDAMENTAL DUTY? I like how outrageous and rebellious this book is, but somewhere I feel it´s narrative is too cornered.

I read many informative books which based on our education system. All the authors only shows the quality of our education system but here I found a best author who not even shows the good or bad qualities of our system but tells us that how can we prevent it. Most of our guardian thought that if our child study in a high class public school so (he/ she) their future will be bright. But is that possible? No....our mindset will only change when we teach our child about reality. Only books knowledge I read many informative books which based on our education system. No....our mindset will only change when we teach our child about reality. Only books knowledge is not enough for them they have to practice practically to enhance our knowledge only then they can understand the pain, grief and emotions of another person too. You all have listen about Pandavas and Kauravas of Mahabharata have you noticed something? They teach dhanurvidya and Shastra knowledge which is necessary for their future while those study they can rule their nation. But in today's generation child didn't get education according to their choice and at last they all become confused. That what they have to do in their future and all. Then they apply in all field for knowing their passion is it good for them. In some colleges and schools not well qualified teachers are hire. This is the main reason which spoils the child future. Some teachers don't discuss about sex education, politics and many more topic. Teachers told and discuss According to their mentality which brain washes the child mind. We all have to stand together and fight against them. The author did very well and explain very well about all this things from which we all are unknown. Writing style is so gripping. Some students who are preparing for their gov. Exams this book will help them a lot to enhance their knowledge about education system.

The book starts as an exposé to the manipulative education system but is not restricted to the education system. The author accuses all major people and political parties of preventing students and the general public from learning the art of critical thinking. I agree with a few points mentioned by the author. The fact that critical thinking and financial management are not taught in school is valid. But that does not mean that anyone is stopping us from learning about it. I believe there is a time for everything. If children start trying to earn money when they are young they will not focus on their studies. All possible concepts and ideas cannot be spoonfed on school. According to the author, everyone's aim in life is only to earn money and teachers teach in schools because they don't know how to invest. This thought process is highly biased. A person could also be a teacher because he or she is passionate about it. The case is never the same for everyone. However, massive generalizations have been made in this book. Furthermore, most of the book is covered with such accusations against the education system, government, society, shopkeepers, and even YouTubers. Some of them are valid but many are unreasonable. Most of it seems like a conspiracy theory. Another topic in the book that I did not like is Political Correctness. The author says that using Politically Correct terms is against a person's freedom of speech. I don't agree with this. People cannot be rude to others just because they have freedom of speech. The book takes a very narrow approach to everything. On one hand, the author talks about Black and White thinking, and on the other hand, this is book is a fine example of Black and White Thinking. The second and third part teaches us about Critical Thinking and Manipulation. The critical thinking section talks about Distraction, Addiction, Procrastination, and Study Strategies. There is only one chapter on critical thinking which is very informative. The topic of Barriers to Critical Thinking was interesting. This section seems out of place as logically it is not within the scope of the book title except for the Critical Thinking topic. The third part talks about Manipulation, but not in enough detail. According to this book, basic Marketing techniques are considered as Manipulation. It is followed by some random Manipulation techniques that most people use. Lastly, the author teaches the readers how to manipulate other people and also possibly con them. Most of the thoughts and ideas presented in the book are too extreme. I still don't understand the whole point of this book. The title of the book is "The Manipulative Education System" but according to the book each and everyone is manipulative and using some or the other form of Manipulation. Also, the author teaches us how to manipulate others. What was the point of accusing everyone if we are all doing the same? The book does not follow a single line of thought and has a lot of random topics that are useful but out of context. The title of the book does not represent the book effectively. The cover matches the title but not the book. I believe every coin has two sides, this book explores only one side. If you are going to read this book, please critically analyze everything you read.

On education, educating and educators The book talks about the necessity of good education. The author begins the book questioning about how the parents choose an institution for their children. There arises a question whether we actually analyse the pros and cons of an institution before admitting our kids there. This shows the present day parents' desire to admit their kids in a well- reputed institution. They believe in the standard of schools not the standard of education they provide. The present condition of education in India is presented in three separate divisions. 1) The Truth 2) Understanding the Situations 3) Understand how the Manipulation works In the present scenario, education is in the state of flux. Teachers find it difficult to make children understand what she teaches and students find it difficult to sit tight before the screen which they previously used for entertainment. Moreover there are factors like network glitches, distraction, and the teacher's inability to teach through technology prove fatal in learning. Therefore one must understand that the state of education keeps changing and we should cope up with the changes. It is the duty of schools to help children in Critical thinking but most schools aim at making the children a book worm without questioning what is taught. The aim of teaching should be to avoid manipulation. It is very difficult to manipulate a well educated man and schools much teach children to think critically and analyse the truth in anything presented before them. Decision making is one of the most important skills one should possess. This will help them from preventing disasters. The book also talks about the art of manipulation. The author talks about the job opportunities the students can create. Not all the literates are securing a job. Employment is something much more than what we think. A degree will never fetch you jobs. The skills we possess, the knowledge we gain from education and the experience we have will decide our future. The author had beautifully portrayed these things in a practical way. Every parents and students must read this book in order to gain quality education on education. The language is simple. The book is informative. I suggest the readers to be open minded and rectify the errors we make while providing education.

But, at present as we see that we are following the same, the virtual world and the unexpected had come true. But what does it has to do with the education system, you may ask me? As there is advancement in our life where people are getting replaced by the machines in their work place, the only answer to this would be the updation of our selves in whatever we do. But what about the future generation? The answer to this will be the reformation of the education system. But as we see most people who are educated neither getting any jobs nor doing well in their respective fields. So, what may be the reason? The reason is that these people are just good in the theoretical knowledge but not in the practical implications. This is something that we need to worry about. In this book, the author has given a very deep insights of our modern education system where we actually are learning the outdated things. This may sound funny but the author has delivered good reason why there will be more unemployment if we don’t change our education system. The author in the beginning chapters brings us the real definitions of what is education and what is education system. The author takes us into the history of how, why and when the education system started and why it became so important in the 20th century. But the sad thing is that we are continuing the same tradition of what 20th century people did. The author gives us the reason why the present education system is a failure and what will be the repercussions of it if we fail to bring changes to it. To know more about it, grab this book and dive into it and be prepared for the world is changing at a rapid pace. The book is written in a simple language but with deeper insights to it. The author has done a good research on the sensitive topic and the presentation of the topic is also good. The only thing I would say is this book is suitable for all the age people especially for the younger generation. Ratings:- 4/5.

Genre: Non - Fiction (Education) Rating - 5/5 QOTD: What are your views on our Education System? "The Manipulative Education System: Understand how the flaws of the education system can lead a person susceptible to epic manipulations" by The Ascendant One. I am not a person who thoroughly objects to the Indian education system because it is the same education system that has given us the leaders. Neither am I saying that I completely support our education system and say there are no flaws in it. I firmly believe that everything we do has deficiencies in them. We are not perfect, so we can't make anything perfect. Likewise, even the education system that was made has flaws in it. Our population is increasing, and we have minimal education facilities for the children. In some places, a few children are not even into education. The Government should try to develop every aspect of the country that are the necessities for the country's citizens. Furthermore, they should develop the education system as well. The Education system that we are following right now was made a long while back when many people are not intended to be educated. But now, that is not the scenario. Every child wants to be educated and be literate. So to make that happen, there should be some changes that should take place in the education system and recorrect the flaws. And repeat the same again! Development is a constant process. It shouldn't end, and it will not end. It is not a one-time thing. It should be redone multiple times because development doesn't remain the same. This book is divided into 3 parts they are: •The Truth •Understanding the Solutions •Understanding the Problems and find solutions The author has really done a great job by writing this book. It needs a lot of effort and research before putting this book out for all of us. This is a sensitive issue and a topic that needs all the attention. This book talks straight to the point and points out the flaws.

And then there is mind map to get the correct perspective of the book after once you have completed reading. Author has divided book into three parts. 1. The Truth 2. Understanding The Solutions and at last 3. Understand How Manipulation Works. All these three have sub parts defining the title. Author has pointed are every single thing how we have been manipulated since the beginning without having a slightest idea of what is going on. How the education sector has become a business to lobbyists. Author has also focused on the critical thinking which to be honest really lacks in this country's students. Book is written in lucid language and the writing style is very straight forward without messing up the things. It's not like any other self help or non fiction book which tells you to do this or that. I was really impressed by the way author penned down everything which seems like someone is talking to us in real. After finishing the book do go visit the website links sources which are listed at the end it will make you see things more clearly. But why is that happening? The answer to this is simple but no one is giving heed or any importance to it. The answer is that, “OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM IS GETTING OUTDATED AND STUDENTS ARE LEARNING THE TOPICS WHICH ARE NOT IN USE.” In this book, the author has given a detailed explanation of what is education, what is education system, its history, the comparison of the education in 20th century and that of 21st century. The author has also revealed the dark side of the origin of the education system and why people in the initial blindly followed it and why its still the same. The author has given us the real meaning of the education, the importance of why there are other forms of education and why people are getting more attracted to the informal type of education. The author has also presented the reasons why there were more drop outs in the 1950-2000 and why people of other nation were able to build successful companies even though they were drop outs. The author has also revealed that how the influential people are interfering the education system and what are its ill effects. These are some which I have mentioned here but when to know more, pick this book and dive into know more about it. This book was delightful read. I have never come encross such kind of book. The book exposes the manipulation of education system and it's flaws. So if you want to also know the meaning of your education like what it does to you and your feelings, action, thoughts which generates idea, I recommend this book. If you want to know how education actually works. There are various modes of education such as formal, informal, non-formal education. The author explains the pros and cons of each mode of education. I like this lines from the book, "It does not necessarily follow that people who want to learn and get educated should only go to college and universities. People learn and get educated through influential people/work experiences/different circumstances/challenges /failures /mentors... and so on." It also contains some basic knowledge about education which we all know about it. I'm sure everyone did one thing during online class that is sitting Infront of computer and doing nothing so author said this as cons like it is without face to face interaction. This is true, The education doesn’t stop, once you leave the education system, it just changes its form and you continue to learn through your life experiences and the people you meet. It also explains how and for what purpose was the school system was started in first place?, How to eradicate the over consumption and Fiat. There so many questions raised by the author in various topics. This book helped me in so many topics to learn. Over all this book is different read and I enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

I appreciate the rigorous analysis the author did to put in writing this book, however, I can not consider all the accusations made. The book takes an awfully slender approach to everything and massive generalizations are made. According to the author we, the general people aren’t tutored regarding the art of vital thinking at school. My point is "critical thinking" isn't a theoretical subject that students ought to mug up. It is a practical ability that may be practiced outside a school. All potential ideas and concepts can't be taught in school. One cannot simply accuse a school that why were they not tutored in these types of practical subjects. Another topic that the author mentioned that students are compelled to join coaching classes because the school did not teach them properly. There can various reasons why a student joined the coaching center - he didn't understand what was taught and he ne'er bothered to ask the teacher to clarify it or he perhaps is a JEE or NEET aspirant or he has been forced to join a coaching center because everyone is doing so. The author accuses everyone- the govt., the society, the major individuals associated with it, little does the author realizes that he's also a part of it. The book is not one-dimensional which according to the title should have been. It has a lot of random topics. It explores only one side of a coin. The author could have taken a tranquil approach to explaining what he wanted to express through the book. Once again I respect the author for putting a lot of research into this book.

Nevertheless, most of the book is covered with such accusations against the education system, government, society, shopkeepers, and also YouTubers. Some of them are valid but some are unreasonable in my eyes. everyone's aim in life is only to earn money and teachers teach in schools because they don't know how to invest. This thought process is highly biased and unacceptable. A person could also be a teacher because he or she is passionate about it. The author explains everything in details along with examples that make him different from another. The language of this book is simple and lucid; therefore, anybody can read this book and know about how the education system works and can improve. There are books that sell more for their content, there are others that sell mostly for their extremely catchy titles. This book, I'd put it in the latter category. 'The Manipulative Education System' catches the attention of somebody just as titles like 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck' and 'The Rudest Book Ever' do. This book, I'd put it in the latter category. 'The Manipulative Education System' catches the attention of somebody just as titles like 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck' and 'The Rudest Book Ever' do. Now, coming to the actual content, the book starts out by pointing out some of the more common biases that give rise to a prejudiced view of things, which is something all of us must be aware of. The first part dealt with some of the shortcomings of the education system, and almost all valid points, starting from parents' roles on choosing institutions to the failure of implementation of teaching methods. But what follows in the next parts is how it 'manipulates' us. It says everything from advertisements to conversations are manipulative strategies. So it can be either common sense or stupidity. The thing is, humanity thrives on manipulation, and so does nature. Every stimulus is manipulative. Your reaction to stimuli is you being manipulated. From a child crying to be fed by the mother to the fight or flight response, everything is a manipulation. To me, most of the agreeable things in the book were actually common sense and the disagreeable was, well, disagreeable. But to many others, it might be able to open new doors but only if the reader is not 'manipulated' into believing in everything the author says. One thing that I absolutely hate in books is casual language. Like many others, this book too adapts a language that is more fitting for a blog than a book, hence making the language a major turnoff. The author, overall had made a good enough attempt at uncovering the unsaid by the use of common sense and presenting it to those of us who might be ignorant to these facts.

Similarly, the book makes you understand that it is crucial to distinguished the difference between Education and Education System and their proper implementation. Our education system has been criticized from time to time but very few try to formulate solutions for it. The book is divided into three sections written by the author Pranit Koppattil. First goes with, The Truth Second, Understanding the Solution Lastly, Understand how Manipulation works What's the truth or hidden realities. How to understand what's the real essence of education and how to make solutions for the things that are problematic and At the end How manipulation is dangerous for professional as well for the personal life of a person. The author says the "One size fits all" pattern on education doesn't take this into account and forces students to spend a lot of effort and time on the things they are not interested in or good at. Indeed, it is difficult for students to learn what they are not interested in, so to make sure students do what they should do and what benefit them the most in present and future people should be critical with their decisions all the time. Informative book with good research material and Rational views. Read, better you find your own solutions and make changes.

History and different types of education system, their pros and cons; how manipulation works. The book gives a decent idea of our education system, reasons it should be denied, effects it has to date though there are not any specific points to describe the distinction of this book it conveys a nice idea and that's why I would recommend the book to everyone.I would firmly prefer the readers to scan the topics what the author has covered since a lot of them are highly controversial.

Formal and informarl education, online education system have been critically analysed and discussed. The most important part i.e. critical thinking is also focussed here, the kids usually lack critical thinking now a days and how current education system lacks in providing it is a big road block here. Second part of the book focusses on the solutions to the problems where author discusses the solutions to the problems discussed in the first part. I loved the solutions provided by author and fits in the problem solution category. Third part is about the manipulation and the techniques of manipulation. How people are manipulated, and how can they manipulate others it has been discussed here with examples and techniques. Coming to the conclusion, the book is just a viewpoint or thinking of the author about the education system and as a reader you may disagree with a few points. The cover of the book is catchy, and so the title is. Language used is simple and lucid. Examples are great and easy to understand. The way book is presented is enough to get you glued.

Description: The education system has been an interesting topic for decades now. If you want to monitor the progress of a country, start by checking how good its education system is. This book not only exposes the flaws of the education system but also unpacks how these flaws can lead a person to be easily manipulated, economically, socially, culturally and politically. . 📍The book is divided into three parts - The Truth, Understanding the Solutions. 📍In the first part, the author talks about the truth of the system. It tells the purpose of schools and education. It also tells about different kinds of education system and how the current education system lacks the approach. The lack of critical thinking in schools and other educational institutions is told as the major problem. 📍In the second part, the author talks about the solutions to the problem that the system faces today. 📍And in the third part, the author talks about manipulation and how it effects us. 📍 Since the book is presented from the author's viewpoint, there are certain places where I don't agree with the author. The thing which I didn't like was the generalization. And also not everything can be spoon fed in schools as thought by the author. Other than that almost everything was good. The research done was impressive. 📍 The title and cover goes well with the book.

There were author's thoughts that I resonated with like it's easier for students to fall into the ideologies of their teachers . Whereas some thoughts that I disagreed such as 'students walking in line in school, maintaining silence in class or being told to open a particular page in a book' is those students being brainwashed. From education system, we are taken to manipulation in advertisement, how automations will soon take over jobs, different ideologies, what is critical thinking, how to differentiate between wants & needs and political correctness. Overall, author have put thoughts and stated some points I agreed with and found insightful. Author had good command in explaining his thoughts. Three stars because I'm at a standstill with this book. I agreed and disagreed, I liked and didn't like ,it was informative as well as unnecessary word vomit.

It's suggested that we look at the connected chapters only after reading the book at least once. I mostly agree with author's observation regarding the kind of educational institutions we have in our country. It has not been changed for decades and there's no scope that it might change. The education system hasn't evolved with time at all, this point is brought across very nicely when the author talks about teaching practical skills to the students. Everything else from corruption to political correctness to manipulation and it's methods, each of is covered extensively. Overall I'd say that this book is very bold one indeed. Author has expressed his views fully. For me this book is a definite 5 star read.
