What an absolute joy this book was to read!  Stockton may have written the ultimate page-turner.  She displays a non-stop depth and breath of imagination.  It's a rare gift indeed for someone to be able to churn out great story after great story.  Bourbon Street Nocturne is the kind of storytelling that's reminiscent of classic TV shows like Night Gallery and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.  Exciting, chilling, and unpredictable, Bourbon Street Nocturne was fantastic from start to finish.  You owe it What an absolute joy this book was to read! You owe it to yourself to pick this book up!

I truly enjoyed this book of short stories. This would be a good book to take for a commute to work or school. The stories were interesting and short - true to the title. It also could be inspirational for anyone thinking of starting a writing career but thought they would have to write a minimum of a 100 page story to get published.

Bourbon Street Nocturne and Other Short Stories stands out to me among other books because I haven't read anything quite like it. The succinct, mostly micro-fiction stories gave quick glimpses into various scenarios. As a reader, I was dropped into a scene and then popped out again. These stories are short and snappy and I came away with an overall sense of 'don't mess with people or you'll get what's coming to you.' Wonderful read. This is Ms. Stockton's second in her books of short stories series. Detective stories traditionally have plot twists. The author is a master at creating unexpected ones. Wondering how each story will end up carried me through the entire book. Her writing style is succinct, yet conveys a clear picture of characters and locations. Besides her detective stories, there are tales of horror, of complex relationships, humor and different kinds of real love. One story, "The Golden Hour," brought me to tears. Other ones left me feeling inspired. I'm looking forward to Ms. Stockton's next book.

I bought this book because I liked the look and feel and the time it seemed to be created in. Elle has an amazing imagination and the dark side of character and the wrong side of the law or even human emotion is beautifully and carefully sequenced so that the reader has this fantastic ride. An amazing variety of short stories. Some brought tears, others laughter and some were gruesomely disturbing. All told, it was an enjoyable read. Her writing skills and style are very good and make easy reading. I recommend this book.

The eclectic short stories of Elle Stockton is a cross-genre collection that focus on the diverse, life-altering experiences of characters from all walks of life. In Owl Man, a peeping tom gets his just deserts, while Love's Gift echoes O Henry's Gift of the Magi. Fun and imaginative, Elle Stockton's Bourbon Street Nocturne and Other Short Stories has enough twists and turns to keep readers wanting more. This book is full of short interesting stories. Microfiction isn't something that I read on a regular basis but I thoroughly enjoyed this book, definitely a page turner that keeps you wanting more. As a mum of two young children and who also works full time this was an ideal book to pick up when I needed to delve into worlds of all sorts of characters and their conflicted situations. Tales of suspense for both the head and the heart! I loved the addition of the noir stories to Elle Stockton’s second book full of both head and heart. The longer romance tales were full of detailed description, simmered on a slow burn with surprising, sometimes humorous, turns of events. The Book demonstrated the writer’s talent for penning short stories of many genres. I especially enjoyed how the dialogue was appropriately tailored to genre, period, and geographic region. Her expertise at story telling and the art of cleverly shifting plot twists made these stories psychologically challenging to read.

Wow! What a fantastic read! An enigmatic collection of stories that were full of suspense and had me on the edge of my seat. My fingers couldn’t move fast enough to turn the pages! This is the first time I have read Elle Stockton’s work and I am hooked. I cannot recommend this book enough.

There's some real gems in this mixed-bag of flash fiction, though a few left me scratching my head. A great back-pocket collection for when you have a few minutes to kill. This is a collection of really good, short, interesting stories - each of which can be a longer full story on their own. This gives a lot of room for imagination to the reader. I enjoyed reading them.

Fantastic Collection! This incredible book is filled with sixty stories that run the gamut from comedy to horror and everything between. What made this collection so impressive to me was the author's ability to convey every emotion possible with a masterful economy of words. Full of passion, heartbreak, humor, terror, and dread, there is something here for everyone. I look forward to reading more from Elle Stockton in the future. Highly recommended! Fantastic Collection!
