I am a first grade teacher and I read this book aloud to my class. They loved it! They enjoyed how K transformed the car into a boat and plane. They also thought the pictures were amazing. This book is inspiring my students to become writers themselves!

I wasn't a fan of the story or the artwork in this graphic for younger readers. Eleanor Doughty's art is a toss-up. Her backgrounds are gorgeous, but the characters and props only so-so. (If the dust jacket hadn't described J. and K. as a tadpole and his frog sister, I'd have guessed they were some sort of aliens.) The story? Well, it's basically just the two of them on a road trip that involves an ever-evolving vehicle, rather than our intrepid amphibians meeting and interacting with interesting I wasn't a fan of the story or the artwork in this graphic for younger readers. Action-loving kids will probably enjoy this way more than I did, but they'll have to write their own reviews.

A delightfully imagined graphic novel centered on the sweet interplay between siblings on a road trip adventure. The story is simple, and reading it to my four year old, sprinkled with little laugh out loud moments. The beautiful backgrounds and coloring also really make the journey come alive for the reader. “100 stars” - my son.

Very cute graphic novel. K, a tadpole, invents a car. Her younger brother, J, wants a lazy day at home but K convinces him to go on an adventure! J agrees and packs a huge picnic breakfast/brunch/lunch. First they go to the mountains. Then K turns her car into a boat and they sail through mountain caves and waterways until - they reach a waterfall! Then K turns the boat into a plane. But - Uh oh! And a friendly turtle mechanic appears to help. Where should they go on their next adventure? Whimsical, imaginative and encouraging to not give up and to try new things. If you have kids that have enjoyed Cat Kid, I am sure they would enjoy this one also! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a digital review copy! #KsCarCanGoAnywhere #NetGalley

A really fun graphic novel for younger elementary-aged students! The story was funny, cute, and adventure-driven! Not too hard but wish more was said in the story about the sibling relationship.
