I found this an easy and very steamy read it’s a bit instalove but I did Like how much potential for future story growth is within this world and of course, I was sold instantly with these being half snake men totally my thing. One criticism I have though is already being aware of Daisy and the crash as it was mentioned in the previous book. knowing what was coming up slightly took away some of my anticipation for the unfolding story it’s a small thing but just thought I’d mention it. This series is imaginative and I like the unusual male hero’s here and also just how different they are I definitely recommend if you like your males a tad unconventional. Half snake men certainly tick's that box I’d think. Im now intrigued to see where this may eventually go in regards to the humans and the Naga there’s a lot of scope for progression here and I will definitely be reading further story’s set in this world. But the whole thing could have been avoided if he kept a better eye on her. Book 1 was better. Gemma and her Viper had a better romance than Zaku and Daisy. Daisy is annoying to the point of where I wanted Zaku to go find someone else. More of the naga biology is explained, but I will wait for book 3 to explain more about the lurkers, the "tech" and how this all fits together before I say this is awful pacing. Also, author...please for the love of God stop using the word niggling. It's used to describe the same sensation, please find another word to use. Book 1 was better. 3 - 3.5 stars! This is the second book in the Naga Brides series and features Daisy and Zaku. This starts off right where book 1 starts but follows Daisy instead of Gemma. Zaku and Daisy have a lot to overcome to even remotely be together so Zaku sets out to earn her trust and love despite the fact that Daisy is exceedingly against being anywhere near any of these alien snake men. Can Zaku earn Daisy's love and trust? Will Daisy be able to see past her own fear? I really loved Zaku...he was protective and sweet and never gave Daisy a reason to doubt his affections and attentions. There was something so erotic about Zaku using his tail to always keep her in his embrace...like touching her kept him breathing. He was such an authentic hero and when everything goes to hell near the end, his loyalty and love for Daisy was heart melting. Daisy annoyed the f*ck out of me. She wasn't necessarily a bad heroine and I liked her with Zaku but she kept making dumb decisions. I am glad she finally pulled her head out of her ass though. Like the first book in this series, this one had the same unique world building and action. I do think this one lacked some of the romance that the first book had but overall I would say it was a pretty decent read. If you liked the first one in this series, I feel sure you will like this one.

Great story The underlying story here is interesting and the pacing is excellent. In fact, the world building and plot arc that carries to the next book is so interesting that I really want to keep reading. I skipped the first book due to some triggers and picked up just fine by starting with this one. Will I read the next one? Nope. If I can find spoilers to read for a synopsis, I’ll read that, but I can not put myself through another snake-man having sex with a human. Full admission: I am snake Great story The underlying story here is interesting and the pacing is excellent. If I can find spoilers to read for a synopsis, I’ll read that, but I can not put myself through another snake-man having sex with a human. Full admission: I am snake phobic. And while I thought I could handle this because I was good with characters like Nalini Singh’s Viper, who had snake eyes and venom, this is waaay beyond that. My lovelies, this dude is a giant snake with a man’s upper body. Even his “stem” as he so romantically calls it, is a snake’s. The dude has a cobra cowl. He has no legs. He’s just a snake. And the author never lets us forget for a second what he is. And that is fine. It definitely leads to some interesting situations. But this was beyond my own comfort zone. I veered dramatically between anxious fight or flight or wanting to puke for the whole thing, even though those were rarely the emotions I was “supposed to” feel. Which just goes to show you how personal reading experiences are. If snakes don’t give you the heebeejeebies, the science fiction parts of this book are spectacular. And I really do want to know what happens next with the bad humans, the lurker alien tech, how the nagas were created (or where they came from), etc. but I’m going to let this story go for myself. This book wasn’t for me. But it might be for you. :)

Read this the first chance I got and did not stop reading until I was done. Worth. It. I love how we're getting more of the universe for these books little by little and I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen next. I'm also a sucker for knots/ bulges and the "it doesn't fit" moments. I can't wait for the next one. Read this the first chance I got and did not stop reading until I was done. Worth. It. I'm quite genuinely confused as to why there are so many good ratings of this book. For me, this was an unbearable read. Daisy was pretty cool in the beginning but she just began to get extremely pathetic once she began to have feelings for Kranu. In my opinion her character deteriorated. Crying when Kranu left her, acting very irrational, and just generally being extremely idiotic and having no self-respect. It was all I could do to stop cringing from the second-hand embarrassment. Crying when Kranu left her, acting very irrational, and just generally being extremely idiotic and having no self-respect. It was all I could do to stop cringing from the second-hand embarrassment. Fear is a natural response when on an unfamiliar planet with a snakelike alien wanting to hunt you down to mate you - I get that, cool. But she had no backbone and was a complete pushover. While Kranu is very protective of Daisy (view spoiler)[(hunting down an alien who almost raped her, having a strong stance against rapists in general, etc) (hide spoiler)] and could be sweet at times (view spoiler)[ (telling her she's pretty and taking care of her once she gets burnt and loses her eye) (hide spoiler)] his presence was stifling, he treated her like a child (tbf she acted like a child), was a hypocrite, and was generally waving red flags all over the place. He ran away from forming a bond with Daisy after expressing his desire to form one right in the first couple of chapters and came pretty close to forcing himself upon her. Don't worry though folks! Instead of raping her he just masturbated over her all while expressing righteous anger at her prior near rape (like thats any better.) She was unconscious btw and had clearly displayed she was uncomfortable. He was a very confusing and unlikeable character. And the only reason he wanted Daisy as a mate because of her looks, and because he wanted her to "submit" even after she goes through a traumatic event. He locks her in a cage and his selfishness shows up repeatedly in the books yet is never addressed nor fully resolved. In the real world, if people behaved like this, its an indicator of a toxic relationship, but I guess because its a romance fiction novel, everything is romantic and given the green light. Not cool. In conclusion, the characters were both terrible and the relationship was toxic. I finished this novel, but hated myself for it.

A big step down in my opinion from book 1 Daisy had none of the passion and fire that Gemma had and she almost immediately loved her capture - waffling between “tricking” him by giving in and actually wanting him to give in. Zaku on the other hand felt quite weak compared to Viper and the romance was not there. The characters also don’t consummate their relationship until the last couple of chapters. I’ll probably number 3

Wonder no more! I frankly found every aspect of this book disturbing. The ominous dread that permeates all discussions of both human and naga society were unsettling. Zaku’s pride in his ability to kill anyone he wants was uncomfortable. But the bit that really brought it over the top for me was the scene where Daisy is crawling around licking up and rolling in Zaku’s semen (which is in puddles all over the floor). Yikes. The breeding imperative is strong in this one. Combine that with uneven characterizations, especially of Daisy, and incessant dangling modifiers, and…double yikes. On the other hand, Zaku was pretty monstrous (his tail completely fills rooms, so when I say giant snake, I mean GIANT SNAKE), and Lucas really leaned in to her premise. Even though I was disturbed, I was also enthralled. Blog | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram

It is because she is scared for Shelby.          Another thing that annoyed me is that we already knew she was going to run away, steal a flyer, and then crash and burn because it was told in the prior book.   Grrrrr.  What could have been climatic, wasnt. In the end, both characters grew and became better people but they irritated me a lot of the book. That being said, I enjoyed the story and will definitely continue series.

I really wish Lucas had spent more time proof reading and editing, because there were times while I was reading it that I was really confused on what was happening, and the errors took me out of the story. I'd love to see her fix these issues. That said, I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the next one!

A compelling and consuming read, I think it's even better than Gemma and Vrushka's story, to be honest. The characters, Daisy and the King are so different, but still, develop a strong bond, but it takes a lot. I mean, there are times when Daisy just got lucky in her too stupid to live moments, but that was part of her charm. The king was arrogant but still completely smitten with Daisy, so that made him bearable until he became a sweetheart. Look at Him! Dang! What a steamy, passion filled romance between two unlikely mates; Daisy the human and Zaku the snake man. I thought the story was exciting and that Zaku was such a tortured male. I felt sorry for him. I liked Daisy although she had some serious abandonment issues. Things working out for them didn’t seem likely so the ending was great. I loved it.

Zaku and Daisy What an interesting read. The suspense and the action! So much is happening in this second standalone novel in this series. Characters from th first novel do appear in this second novel but this is Zaku and Daisy that this story is about. So many questions. Answers, Answers are coming. In the meantime, enjoy this novel.

I am not usualy for these tyoe of animal/humanoid storylines. But, I am really enjoying these stories and the unknown, fighting for their lives, and inner conflict to become a better entity than those before them, is really a compeling storyline for me. The women are soft, but also not wimpy pushovers.... The males are domering but willing to listen just enough to bend a little.
