Amy had experienced numerous difficulties in life; not the least of which is that she is legally blind. In spite of those challenges, she has made a wonderful life for herself. In spite of those challenges, she has made a wonderful life for herself. She is a successful blogger who needed a break from her regular life for a well-deserved vacation in Colorado with her friends, Bria and Brandon. Bria and Brandon had other plans for her. They wanted her to find love once again and were determined that she would find a romance hero of her very own. Amy was dead-set against any intervention on their part because she had been burned by her ex-boyfriend. But, when she was introduced to their friend, Mac, she began to see that there were heroes that did exist outside of the fictional world of books. Mac, had lost his fiance' in a tragic accident a couple of years earlier. He had experienced grief, pain, and heartache on a different level. He was finally considering that there could be more for him if only he could see what God wanted for him. When he met Amy, he was convinced that she might be the one he had been waiting for. He just had to convince her that he was a real hero who might be just what she had wanted all her life. This was a sweet, clean, wholesome romance that is appropriate for anyone looking for a book with a handsome hero and a wonderful, strong heroine who wanted love but didn't feel deserving of it. This is written by a Christian author so there are comments relating to God and faith. This is the 12th book in the Heroes of Freedom Ridge series and it is a wonderful addition to this series. It was fun to read about some of the previous heroes and their partners in this book, as well. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Amy, just out of a bad relationship, is introduced to Mac who is struggling with some ghosts of his own. Romanced by the Hero, is a sweet swoon-worthy romance that ticks off all the boxes. The main characters are flawed, but at the same time, something deep inside draws them to each other. I was captivated by them from the beginning and felt as though I knew them. The story has some mystery thrown in that keeps me guessing until the story wraps up at the end. I absolutely loved Amy & Mac’s story. It’s a Christmas story but also a story of struggles and turmoil, of faith and trust and I loved how the author has portrayed all of that. Amy is blind and been dumped by her supposed love who’s just used her, Mac lost his fiancée in a car accident and has said no more to love, we all know how that goes!! Mac, the swoon-worthy Head of Security for Freedom Lodge, had a fiancée who was killed in a car accident two years ago. He’s had a rough recovery, but he wants to show Amy that not all men are bad guys. As always, Liwen Y. Ho has written a story infused with faith and humor and filled with fun, relatable, real characters. Both Amy and Mac come into the story having overcome major obstacles through faith. However, just like in real life, there are still issues they both need to work through. I appreciate how the author shows her characters struggling but growing in faith, and her emphasis on good communication. It was also very interesting to read about Amy’s visual impairment—how she sees the world, and how she’s learned to live with it. I also enjoy the author’s humor, including the puns, poking fun at romance tropes, and her sneaky references to other books! This is the 12th book in the Heroes of Freedom Ridge series. This series has been on my TBR list for a while since the books are written by several of my favorite authors. However, this is the first one I’ve read, and I really enjoyed becoming acquainted with the town and people of Freedom, Colorado. While this story can be read as a stand-alone, couples from other books in the series do make “guest appearances”, so now I *have* to read them all! I’ll admit that I love cross-over characters, so I was happy to see that this story includes Bria & Brandon Spark and focuses on Amy McCormick from Liwen Y. Ho’s “Spark Brothers” series. It was great to get a glimpse into what has been happening in their lives, and especially to see Amy finally get her happily-ever-after! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but the opinions are my own.

One that lets you see how life may not be a bed of roses but the roadway is not full of thorns either. Here we have Amy and Mac. Just to look at them, you’d never know they the problems they faced. You’d never know what traumas and hardships they had to live with. They both were overcomes but it sure wasn’t an easy road to travel getting there. Amy was very insecure and rightfully so, but few people would know it. She went above and beyond to hide it. She was legally blind in one eye and totally blind in the other. She fell in love and didn’t realize until too late that it was fake…. he only used her to get what he wanted, a promotion at her parents’ business. Her parents didn’t seem to care and actually seemed to love the ex more than their daughter. That had to hurt. Mac’s life was anything but easy. His parents divorced when he was young which was hard for a young man growing up without a good role model. But life had a lot more pain to hand him. When his fiancee was ki11ed, he lost it and had to crawl his way back to the living. When Amy and Mac meet, it sure wan’t love at first sight. Both had a lot of healing to complete. Little did they know they needed each other to help with that healing. It’s a journey but isn’t that like real life? There are choices to make and consequences to face. Along the way they learn: If God is for us, who can be against us? 👁^👁 OBSERVATIONS: ➡ Amy’s parents got off way too easy. They never show any remorse for their behavior. They sided with the man that rejected their daughter. Why? They loved the almighty dollar better. I needed to see them ‘see’ themselves…. you know, take a hard look in the mirror. ➡ We only know Stuart broke up with Amy. We don’t get to hear any of his thoughts. We are led to believe he’s a really smooth talker and will stoop to nefarious means to get what he wants. I wanted to know more. HIs excuse for breaking Amy’s heart was lame. Does he ever reap what he sowed? I was provided an advance copy of this book and am leaving my personal thoughts and opinions.

Well, they are also all Christmas reads! 🙀 I know what I’ll be reading when I get a chance! But specifically about this book, I loved how Liwen portrayed Amy and her sight. I forgot most times that she was pretty blind because Liwen used Amy’s other senses so well to describe the people she met and the things she was around. We were as blind as she was and it made the experience of the book so much better! And Mac and Amy were both so real! Between their personal struggles outside of their budding relationship to their thoughts and feelings about going into a new relationship due to their past ones. It was all around amazing! This story is started by Mac’s guy cousin and Amy’s girl friend (a married couple) who decide to play matchmaker and match Mac and Amy. They know both their struggles from the past and think that both would be great together. Mac is on board with the idea, but chooses to respect Amy’s wishes. And her wishes are to not start any relationship outside of a friendship. When Mac discovers how Amy’s ex treated her, he suggests that he show her how she should be treated. And despite a few reservations, Amy agrees to allow him to do that for her. Now she just needs to protect her heart by not falling for him. She can do that, right?

Romanced by the Hero is such a cute book. I absolutely loved the main couple. They were great characters to read about. They had fun with each other, while also talking about the tough things. It made the characters seem real. It was really comfortable to be there looking in as their story unfolded I read the book rather quickly, it was a shorter book, for that reason it did appear to be a bit rushed at times. The romance part did develop quickly. But, at the same time, I was okay with it because the characters were just so great. The main focus was on the characters and the settings were used to support them. I would have enjoyed just a bit more of the world around the characters, just a few details to solidify the setting in my mind. This series is really good. I have enjoyed every book I have read in it so far. I did enjoy getting to see some of the characters from the other books. I plan to read the books I haven't yet, and this book does crossover with a different series from this author. I haven't read that series yet, but I plan to after having read this book. I loved this story! Mac and Amy were the sweetest and the best! I loved getting to know both of them, him as a security guy on vacation and her as an anti-romance romance blogger also on vacation. 😂 I loved how determined Mac was to understand her better, play tourist guide for her, *and* romance her. 😍 Seriously, I was so excited to know there are more Spark men to read about. 😊 Granted, not everything is rose-colored glasses, and I also enjoyed the discussions on romance in books, expectations I loved this story! I also love how real Liwen's characters always feel, and I definitely appreciate the research that goes behind some of them, since I loved getting a glimpse into a legally blind person's life. It was also great getting to see past characters like Brandon and Bria and get the update on how things are going for them and their family. Finally, I loved getting to see Mac in action (even though he wasn't supposed to be working), thanks to the added thread of mystery that I definitely enjoyed. Fans of the series will also enjoy getting to see characters from previous books. Overall, a beautiful and satisfying story that delivers on all the warm and fuzzy feelings (the epilogue is just the cherry on top), has great humor, deals with the themes of loss and grief in a respectful way, while reminding reader's that we can rest in God's hands since He's the One who's ultimately in control. A perfect Christmas read for this time of the year, recommended for fans of Christian Fiction, and/or Clean/Sweet Romance mixed with a bit of mystery. ~ 5 stars!

I really enjoyed this story and love the fact that all the stories can stand alone in this series. Amy has come with her friend Bria and her husband to enjoy Christmas in Freedom Ridge, Colorado. I enjoyed this sweet and clean romance by Liwen Ho. I’ve read several of her other series, and a few previous books in this series, and have not been disappointed with any of them. This book is well-written with a good storyline and likable characters (with the exception of Amy’s parents and her ex-boyfriend). I’ve read several of her other series, and a few previous books in this series, and have not been disappointed with any of them. This book is well-written with a good storyline and likable characters (with the exception of Amy’s parents and her ex-boyfriend). Fortunately, the parents and ex are only mentioned briefly to provide some insight into Amy’s history and to explain the reasoning for her distrust of men. I thought it was cute that Mac was smitten with Amy before he even met her from watching some of her online videos. Ms. Ho also did a good job of portraying Amy as legally blind, but very capable and independent. I received a copy of this book from the author, and have given my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is the 12th book in the multi-author Heroes of Freedom Ridge series, and the second one by Ho. You don’t have to have read all the books, but if you have read others, you’ll enjoy the “guest” appearances in this one of couples from previous books. Ho has some good insights on dealing with grief, focuses well on inner beauty/attractiveness as well as outer, and includes a little mysterious plot thread to add interest. I did enjoy reading this book though I admit to not connecting to the characters as much as I would have liked. I can't really say why either, they just never really pulled me in for some reason. That being said, this was a fun read and I did enjoy the idea of Mac choosing to romance Amy to show her that not all men are jerks. The book moved along pretty well and I did enjoy the ending. This is a great, fun read. It happens at Christmas, but you can definitely read this any time of year. Mac and Amy both get a second chance at love after enduring different kinds of heartbreak. Without giving spoilers, they have several bumps on the road to romance, and it’s great to see them work through it. I like the way Mac’s fiancé that passed isn’t vilified as happens in some books. Both characters have real flaws, which makes them relatable. Overall, this was a great introduction to freed This is a great, fun read. Amy traveled to Freedom Ridge, not expecting anything special to happen. After her recent breakup she decided that romance and happily ever after was not in the cards for her. Then she met Mac Spark. A sweet romance with a wonderful storyline and believable characters tars. Loved how Mac willingly described the floats of the Christmas parade for legally blind Amy. All around wonderful and heartwarming romance, loved it!!! Great story. In this overtly Christian story we see a couple that were both hurt by their last relationship. He's ready to move on, but she's not there yet. It's his friendship that gets her to that point... but they are both still plagued by uncertainty and fear or guilt. I love how their friends lovingly talk sense to them and lead them to see passed their fears. I especially love the last couple of lines: "...they had everything they needed for the best kind of romance. A romance that began with Great story. This is the first book I've read in this series and it works great as a stand alone, but we do get introduced to several couples that I'm sure are part of the series. Still I was able to follow everything without feeling like something was missing. Amy and Mac had a connection from the beginning. Their romance and relationship was sweet with a couple bumps in the road. I really liked their characters and especially them together. I was so excited that Liwen Y. Ho had a book in the Heros of Freedom Ridge series and was even more excited that a Spark brother and cousin were featured in this story.  The book definitely lived up to my expectations.  It was romantic.  It had some angst and it had some mystery too, but most of all it was a beautiful, tender, touching story with wonderful characters who truly loved each other, flaws and all, only to be better as part of a couple that complimented each other together.  I receive I was so excited that Liwen Y. A Sweet, Snowy Christmas Romance Sweet, with a mystery and a few secrets to unravel, this Christmas romance will warm your heart. This is the final book in the multi-Author, Romanced by the Hero Series. It can be read as a stand-alone but is much more satisfying if you’ve followed the cast of characters from the beginning. LiWen Y. Ho creates characters who are complex and conflicted. She includes compelling details that pull readers into her stories. Romanced by the Hero will give you all the feels. There is sadness, joy, attraction, and love. There are some swoony kisses as well. I truly liked both Amy and Mac. Amy has serious vision problems, so the reader gets to experience the world like Amy. Kudos to Liwen Ho for how well that is done. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Romanced by the Hero and would recommend it to clean/wholesome romance readers, to Christian romance readers, and to lovers of all things Christmas.
