RATING 4.5 STARS Super Hot Wingman is book #0.5 in The Best Men series by Sarina Bowen and Lauren Blakely. This is a super short, super cute introduction to Mark Banks, the older brother of Hannah, and Asher St. James, the best friend of Hannah’s new boyfriend, Flip. Mark is a nerdy glasses wearing single father. Asher is an ex soccer player and current professional photographer. Mark is very concerned with the speed his sister’s new relationship with Flip has progressed. And what in the world did that text say? This was short and fun and I can’t wait to see what happens next in book one, The Best Men. I have a feeling these two are going to take me on a crazy, wild ride!

DNF at 18% The upside is that I get to take two books off my TBR with one DNF, since I now have zero interest in the book that follows.

I loved this Mark guy with his hot nerd vibe:) Whoever invented the idea of lust is pissing me off. But it’s poker face time. I'll rate it after I read The Best Men. Damn, it’s so easy to laugh out loud with this book. Super Hot Wingman is the prequel novella to The Best Men, the highly anticipated collaboration book of the lovely Lauren Blakely and the amazing Sarina Bowen. One that’s effectively served its purpose because before reading it, my excitement and expectations for The Best Men were sky-high— now they’re up there in outer space. All right. One that’s effectively served its purpose because before reading it, my excitement and expectations for The Best Men were sky-high— now they’re up there in outer space. All right. So we have Mark, a Wall Street guy, soon-to-be divorced daddy, and protective brother to his sister Hanna, who has fallen madly in love with a guy named Flip over the short course of the weekend. Then we have Asher, a soccer (football!) superstar, Calvin Klien model, plus Best Friend Forevah and super hot wingman to penthouse-owning and brass sculpture-collecting Flip. Mark is bothered by the lightspeed in which Hanna and Flip’s relationship progresses. Hanna has been burned badly before and Mark doesn’t want it to happen again. Mark’s gut tells him that Hanna will get hurt again, this time by Flip, which is why he shouldn’t be drooling over Flip’s best friend Asher. But how is Mark suppose to do that when Asher saves trapped animals on the street, when Asher charms Mark’s daughter and buys her cookies, and when there’s a photo online in which Asher reclines on a white divan with a fashion-week pout, in nothing but a pair of blue briefs? The writing style is flawless. I already love the main characters, loving, protective Mark and fun, charming Asher, but I’m still on the fence with the supporting characters, Flip and especially Hanna, who seems like an airheaded person to me. It’s not even actually started yet but the chemistry is so delicious already and the hint of an impending thick sexual tension is really promising. I’m looking forward to some steamy hot encounters. Super Hot Wingman is a sexy, fun, and feel-good read, which tells me The Best Men will be more so and even better. Can’t he just be hot? Nope. He’s hot, and cocky, and he’s a dog superhero. This prequel novella shows upcoming full length novel has potential for cuteness but also potential to annoy me. Ultimately it’s too short to tell. So I’ll be staying in the wait and see group and not joining the brave pre-order gang. I have faith in you guys to let us know the truth! 😂

I mean... it was free but it also wasn't a full story. If you are expecting a full novella, you will be disappointed. Frankly, that's what I was expecting, so I left this wanting something more. I enjoyed what I read, but it was just a few intro chapters that ...-ed into the lead up to the first in the series. Hoping The Best Men is as good as I'm expecting it to be based on Super Hot Wingman. goodreads|instagram|twitter|tiktok I mean... it was free but it also wasn't a full story. those who've been with me for a while know that i have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Sarina Bowen, but i'll begrudgingly admit this has me intrigued 😤🤣 now if we could get a word-for-word on those drunken texts..... 👀 btw if audiobook is more your style, you can also listen to the prequel novella in its entirety here! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS... those who've been with me for a while know that i have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Sarina Bowen, but i'll begrudgingly admit this has me intrigued 😤🤣 now if we could get a word-for-word on those drunken texts..... 👀 btw if audiobook is more your style, you can also listen to the prequel novella in its entirety here! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS...

"I glance over at my friend, registering the shock on his face too. I cannot believe Mark Banks just said that. And that. And that. And, whoa, that last thing. About me." Well colour me intrigued, this story sounds like a fun time 🤣. Mark Banks, a hot single dad/banker and Asher St. James, a former football player (soccer)/photographer sound like a fliry and fun duo.😏 This was a great introduction to the story. Drunk Mark and his antisocial cat have me intrigued 😂😂. Excited for this one! "I glance over at my friend, registering the shock on his face too. I cannot believe Mark Banks just said that. And that. This was....ok? But I kinda felt annoyed too, I don't like both MCs all that much. I feel very conflicted tbh. will I listen to the full length? Yes. Because it's #Jeddy narrating. Hopefully the full length is better than this novella. I'm not expecting a Him or Us caliber book, but I want a good book! This was....ok? Nice prequel. I haven't read the full novel yet, but the characters do seem interesting and I'm curious about what will happen after the drunk texts. || 1.5 stars || Oh god no. This was so freaking cringe-worthy. I do not even know where to begin, since everything was just regrettably terrible. I mean, not only is it uncomfortable how badly and stiffly written this is, the characters are also absolutely dreadful. First and foremost, the main character, Mark, was honestly so annoying; he literally just hated on everything and everyone for no reason whatsoever. Like, what even is his deal?? He also needs to mind his own business, because he is far too involved in his sister's life-choices. Just be happy for your sister, dude, and calm down. This judgemental alpha macho man needs to take several seats. Please, and thank you. The 'love interest' in the form of Asher seems fine enough, but only if you ignore the fact that he did not even seem like a real person. Even though we read from his perspective a few times, it did not humanize him, as he sounded more like a robot than anything else. I guess the only redeeming factor was that I really am a sucker for pining, and at least Mark seemed quite enamoured with Asher, so that was somewhat fun. Sort of? I guess not really, though.. Because honestly, not even that was done right, as it was constantly mixed with Mark being annoying as hell. I don't know, I'm really just grasping at straws here to find something I kind of liked. I’m coming up empty. Anyway, it is all just so incredibly superficial and weird and stupid and eye-roll-worthy. Just bleh. Not for me, nope. Nope. NOPE.

2.5 Not sure if I want to read the book after reading this. I’m not into the fabulous, rich and hot people that’s so overdone in some books. We’ll see because it has the potential to be cute if it’s not overly obnoxious.

The timing of this FREE prequel was epic for me! I had just started to read an early copy of The Best Men late the day before so I was only two chapter into the book when the authors announced the prequel, so I jumped on YouTube and took a listen the next morning! Cute meet/cute sneak peek This is a cute sneak intro to the moment that kicks off The Best Men. It's not massively detailed but it works to give an intro to the rest of the story which unfolds between Asher and Mark. It's funny and also sets off the differences in the backgrounds and life experiences of the two men and also works to show how close they are to their respective best friend and sister. I'm absolutely loving The Best Men (I have the ARC) and can only smile at all this prequel reveals. Cute meet/cute sneak peek This is a cute sneak intro to the moment that kicks off The Best Men. 3.25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A fun, promising start but we’ll see. Asher, who we get very little from in this novella, I’m hoping will grow on me in the full length novel. If he remains toeing the line of bro-y a—hole then well…😬 (did LB write for him because that might answer some questions for me lol) Anyway I can tell though this going to be a no thoughts, just vibes story so do with that information what you will 😌

I was actually hopeful when I read this, I felt like Mark was grumpy and so cynical it was funny af! I was enjoying his sarcasm and little faith in the world, felt connected to him even. Asher didn't appear much, just to take out his shirt (first red flag, I should have known), so I kept my judgment and went for the book. 😢 I was actually hopeful when I read this, I felt like Mark was grumpy and so cynical it was funny af! Super Hot Wingman is The Best Men’s prequel novella. It is sort of an introduction to Mark and Asher, and it tells the story of how they met. It’s hilarious and short, and it will give you a taste of what you can expect from The Best Men. I loved how complete the story feels. And it will leave you wanting more.
