I can't say enough of how excited and happy I am that Disney has finally gotten a new princess, and one who loves food. When I saw this book, I literally had tears in my eyes because it was so cute and I wanted it really bad.The kid in me will never get enough of books like this The Princess and The Frog: Tiana's Cookbook is a wonderful authentic delight from Disney. Just today I've made the infamous Beignets (pronouned Ben-YAY) and I am not disappointed, I actually pleased with myself that I've made something that you had to fry since I've never done that before with dough. If you don't know what Beignets are first off there a French pastries. Think Doughnut without the hole or funnel cake in a ball. Delicious. I felt like Princess Tiana showed me the recipe herself especially using a sifter to sprinkle powdered sugar on the Beignets. *giggles* The book has about 20 recipes including "Tiana's Famous Beignets", "Po' Boy Sandwich", "Yumbo Gumbo", and much more. There are also full colored photos of the finished food that look absolutely mouth watering. I can't wait to try them! This kids cookbook is simply a delicious, fun, and easy delight that anyone can use. Great for little girls, young girls, people who can't cook, and people who want to try something new and southern. Buy this book. You won't be disappointed.

Personally, I dn't think this is a book geared to little kids even thought it says it is and has instructions for them. I use recipes out of this book all the time and my favorite, thus far, is the coffee cake (I add walnuts to the middle for an extra flavor). I recommend this book but I would also advise it's not geared for children to do by themselves, especially with the high temperature settings involved. I have ALWAYS loved the movie Princess and the Frog. I got this book from my mother as a gift and have loved all the recipes that I have made. I try and find EVERYTHING Princess and the frog that I can because items that correspond with this movie are quite impossible to find. I really enjoy having things that are based on my favorite Disney Princess movie. I hope that you find the same. P.S. I'm 15 and I LOVE this book, why does it have to say recipes for kids? Another super-cute Disney cookbook, aimed at the younger set but containing sophisticated recipes alongside the fun. The dishes range from making flower-shaped pb&j sandwiches with cookie cutters to the more complicated Creole-style jambalaya, gumbo, and beignets. This is an easy way to introduce Cajun and Creole flavors to the family while getting kids interested in the kitchen. The illustrations, featuring characters from Disney's "The Princess and the Frog," are adorable to boot. Although this is a children's cookbook it is not so simple that adults would not enjoy these recipes. They have clever names to go along with the story of the Frog Princess. Anyone who wants a simple Louisiana recipe like Beignets, Yumbo Gumbo or special drinks like Swamp-water Smoothie will find them here. This would be a great book for a Mardi Gras party. Great gator cake. I may try some of these recipes out on my friends. Although this is a children's cookbook it is not so simple that adults would not enjoy these recipes. One of our favorite cookbooks that both my daughter and I love to cook together from! The recipes are yummy and right up our alley flavorwise!! Great pictures and the recipes are easy to follow for her, ever since she received this on Christmas when she was 6 years old.

The recipes in this book looked seriously delicious. This would be something that I would definitely want to buy and eat. The recipes are very easy and I think kids would enjoy making them with their parents.
