Cute book. Mostly about Thistle and Tinkerbell. Happy to have FINALLY gotten a satisfying explanation for why fairies turn into bats when they hear a mermaid singing. "If a fairy hears a mermaid's song after the sun goes down she turns into a bat". I never really understood why Rani turned into a bat in Quest for the Wand, but now I do. It's fascinating how Disney fairies have two worlds- Book!verse and Movie!verse. The book!verse takes off after the book series by Gail Carson Levine. You've got Cute book. It's fascinating how Disney fairies have two worlds- Book!verse and Movie!verse. The book!verse takes off after the book series by Gail Carson Levine. You've got "book fairies" that do not appear in the movies, like Rani, Fira, Thistle, Prilla, Beck, Bess, Lily etc. Then they're movie!verse inspired by the Disneytoon direct-to-DVD franchise. You've got "movie fairies" that do not appear in the books - like Silvermist, Fawn, Iridessa, Periwinkle, etc. Movie!verse characters are CGI illustrations. But sometimes in the book!verse and/or in the movie!verse, you'll find fairies that appear in both. You'll find them in both the movies and the books. Examples are Tink (obvs), Rosetta, Queen Ree/Clarion, Rosetta. Book!verse illustrations are hand-drawn and painted. It is so cool that there are comics inspired by BOTH book!verse and movie!verse. This fandom is so cool because in fairy!verse, it's almost like there are two worlds. Two worlds for you to imagine the fairies. I love this franchise because you don't have to choose. You can follow both and still be a fan.

Personally, Tinkerbell is my favorite cartoon character so I enjoyed reading every page of this graphic novel. This book was great and the coloring was amazing. I felt like I was watching a silent film instead of reading a book. This book would be good for students who enjoy books with more pictures than words. The illustrations are very bright and a mixture of many different colors that provide a happy feeling. The text is always with the illustration because it gives off the sense that that character is talking. The type of illustration in this book is surrealism because it contain fairies that all have some type of talent. I highly recommend this book to young readers around the ages 8 and up.

I enjoyed this one a little bit more than the other 2 I’ve read so far. I liked that there was one story underneath the other stories being told.
